Best Beaches in Bangladesh

Mention the word “Bangladesh” and travelers seem to get caught up in a world of images akin to monastery’s and riding atop elephants in search of Bengal tigers. All that is well and good, but those in the “know” understand that Bangladesh boasts some of the most pristine and stunning beaches found anywhere in the world.

Travelers in pursuit of white sand, hot sun and lapping waves should head for Kuakata, a newly developed tourist resort. It is a scenic beauty spot on the southernmost tip of Bangladesh in the district of Patuakhali. Seemingly out of place for the area but beautifully in tune with its surroundings, visitors have their pick of gorgeous surroundings and plenty of leisure activities.

Sun-worshipers can also break away from coast (difficult as that may be) and head inland for a daytrip observing the traditions and unique lifestyle of the indigenous Rakhane tribe, and their stunning display of workmanship on everything from cigars to woven fabrics.

Not to far away, also in the extreme south of Bang, you’ll find the world’s longest and broadest beach, Inani Beach. Site of several modern beach resorts that pull in beach-lovers from all over the world, and with a mixed population of Bengali and Burmese, Inani Beach is a massive 120 kilometers (75 miles) long and 55 meters (180 feet) to 90 meet (300 feet) wide (depending on tide conditions). This entire area has not been fully exploited to tourism, and that is precisely why the area beckons you to check it out.
