Same Shiite... Different Day... [01:55]
Shawn and I went to the Buriganga river today and we spotted a fort on the opposite bank. We decided to check it out and on the way the car we were in was repeatedly stopped. We inadvertently drove through Old Dhaka into the middle of a VERY large muslim festival. Plans were changed and instead of seeing a sight we decided to be a part of it and wade through the crowd. We made our way to the front of a mosque where the majority of the crowd was converging... We found out later this is a shiite festival to honor two of Muhammed's grandchildren, Hussein and Hassan. I believe it's the Day of Ashura but I'm not 100% sure as the Day of Ashura is on the 10th day of Muharram... but I digress... The atmosphere was lively and terrifying... It was a very large Muslim mosh-pit reminiscent of the Black Friday rush that was happening in the US at the same time. At many points the crowd surged and my movement was involuntary... when a surge happened Shawn and I literally became swept up in it and leaving became difficult. This is part of my Bangladesh trip. I went to Bangladesh for 3 months to document the building of a school with Shawn (Uncultured Project). If you want to learn more about that project if you use the link below to his youtube channel all the details are there. The majority of the trip on this channel is cell phone videos of certain moments... If you like this video please Subscribe, Comment, Rate, Favorite, and tell your friends. Find me on... Thrilling Sundarban Travel festival of XPLORE BANGLADESH [10:00]
This is a regular tour from XPLORE BANGLADESH LTD., the fastest growing trarvel & tourism company of Bangladesh. Travelers were more than 70. Started with delayed messy schedule of Bangladesh Railway and being suffocated, jam packed in train-they begun a tour with a sordid opening. However, 'morning shows the day' appeared false soon they reached KHULNA. And ultimately when they boarded in launch, the home on water, they entered in a world which has little cognizance of the usual busy and burdened world. That was a different idea, a different feelings and losing in different tastes of life which was not known to them before that period. Zigzagged rivers and tributes surrounded by total dominance of greenery and natural wildlife minored their presence and provided thrill and joy of er entrance in someone's world. Their lungs were washed with cleanest air. Every turn made them cautious and curious of seeing something special, something which was unseen and something which who knew would be the first and last time s/he saw. Night fall with much more thrill but joy and euphoria competed with it and became winner. Oh, that should be delirium of joy.

The Catholic Cathedral of Kohima [01:02]
The Cathedral is located on Aradura Hill in Kohima. It is one of the biggest cathedrals in North East India. Its splendid architecture makes it one of the important landmarks of Kohima. The unique design created by blending the traditional with the orthodox resulted in an architectural marvel. It is also home to the largest cross that is made of wood in the country. The magnificent crucifix is carved in wood and is 16 ft high, possibly one of the tallest wooden carved crucifixes in Asia. The Stations of the Cross posed in the main entrance is a special beautiful feature. It is the presentation of Jesus' final journey with the cross, the last journey to Calvary. The fourteen stations, pose a real replica to the faithful with its beautiful arrangement on the slope of the hill leading up to the Cathedral. The Cathedral was inaugurated on the day of the Un's day of settlement. The Cathedral at this part of India has a very pleasant atmosphere for prayer and worship. The Catholic Cathedral in Kohima is a place worth seeing for its ideal blend of indigenous structural design.architectural might and complexity is a surprise. The semicircular building with its modern architectural thinking covers one side of the Araduura hill with every bit of construction planned in detail with no space wasted. Its façade is shaped like a traditional Naga House. A complete structure, including official and residential rooms! The Cathedral owes its existence to Lt. Rev. Abraham Alnagimattathil ...
