Bangladesh concrete project [01:34]
Bangladesh coastal area (this video is specifically Cox's Bazaar) does not have aggregate, so they making bricks and chip away to create aggregate. This was the only task I saw women and children performing outside the home. The mixed concrete was carried (by men) in baskets balanced atop the head, up two flights to the floor where it was being poured. (recorded in 1999)

Pounding for Pithas in Bangladesh [02:54]
This is a documentary on pounding rice flour in a very traditional Bangladeshi way. It is done manually by hand with kahail chaal ie wooden mortar and pestle. The rice flour is used to make various types of pithas ie rice cakes. The photography and video were taken during a trip to Dhaka and on Bhairab/Poshur river in January 2010. Enjoy!
