Puppies and Bengali Blades... [02:11]
Bitches love my new haircut and if they don't they're skanks... also Shawn and I have determined that bitches love pregnancies. Stumbled upon some cute puppies, I'm sure you'll agree. So it came time for me to get a haircut. Last one I had was when I had my head shaven when I lost VlogWars. Long time right? It was definitely time. So what's a guy to do in a rural village? Well... get a rural haircut ya dig? It took 2 hours and he trimmed the top of my head about 5 times... I assume if he went hair by hair it would have been about as long. Either way I'm happy with it, and Really happy with the price. Soooo let's kick the ballistics. Usually a villager will be charged 30-50 taka for a haircut that'd roughly 50 cents. I overpaid cause I'm rich and white (only one of those is true) and I gave him 300 taka... roughly 4 dollars... Even at the beauty school where I was getting my head hacked with a lawnmower by beginners I was being charged $5 plus tip. He was stoked to get 300 taka and I was stoked to get a haircut with such detail and for so little... Symbiotic relationships are a sweet sweet thing. This is part of my Bangladesh trip. I went to Bangladesh for 3 months to document the building of a school with Shawn (Uncultured Project). Illegal Border Crossing [00:37]
Bangladesh is almost completely surrounded by India... there's just a tiny bit of Myanmar in the mix and the ocean. Shawn and I went up to the northern part to look out over India and see the Himalayas... Apparently it's possible when the fog burns off... Unfortunately today was not one of those days. So I woke up at 5am to take a cramped 3 hour car ride on some bumpy roads to look at fog... Luckily we also passed by one of India's land borders where we hopped into India for a quick self guided tour through a tea garden... Pretty sweet. This is part of my Bangladesh trip. Bengali Models and Boat Trips... [01:38]
So I started off with a random clip because I have no idea where else I'd show it. I Went into a place where some Bengali's were filming what appeared to be Soap Opera stingers... OMG who's baby is she the father of? That's my guess... then I Went on a boat ride on the Bariganga river. The guy doing the rowing comandeered the boat from the other guy... I have no idea why, but I guess it's allowed. They actually move at a decent clip for only one guy paddling... This is part of my Bangladesh trip. Same Shiite... Different Day... [01:55]
Shawn and I went to the Buriganga river today and we spotted a fort on the opposite bank. We decided to check it out and on the way the car we were in was repeatedly stopped. We inadvertently drove through Old Dhaka into the middle of a VERY large muslim festival. Plans were changed and instead of seeing a sight we decided to be a part of it and wade through the crowd. We made our way to the front of a mosque where the majority of the crowd was converging... We found out later this is a shiite festival to honor two of Muhammed's grandchildren, Hussein and Hassan. I believe it's the Day of Ashura but I'm not 100% sure as the Day of Ashura is on the 10th day of Muharram... but I digress... The atmosphere was lively and terrifying... It was a very large Muslim mosh-pit reminiscent of the Black Friday rush that was happening in the US at the same time. At many points the crowd surged and my movement was involuntary... when a surge happened Shawn and I literally became swept up in it and leaving became difficult. This is part of my Bangladesh trip.
