Bangladesh is continuing their poor batting display in Wellington too. In Hamilton they batted 58.1 overs in the first innings and 46.2 in the second, which revealed their inability to stay in the crease with needed Test temperament. They batted as if they were playing a one-day match scoring more than 3.5 runs per over. Was that necessary? They attempted too many shots against the New Zealand bowlers and lost their wickets imprudently. These batsmen from the top-order are failing repeatedly. While they are asked to bat patiently they are perfectly doing the opposite in the field. The credit does not go to the opposition bowlers always. The Bangladesh batsmen, who unwisely and childishly tend to go for silly shots that cost their wickets, thus gifting most of the wickets to the bowlers.
Due to their short lasting innings Bangladesh had to except humiliating defeats – thrice they had to leave the field within day-3 including the Test in Hamilton. There are two things very common in Bangladeshi batsmen. Firstly, they are lacking adequate concentration that is needed to play the longer version. Secondly they are repeatedly failing to apply the very common cricket senses. Their first innings total of 132 proves it once again

Assalamlualaikum
I am glad to know that there are at least some Bangladeshi supporters in this forum! Frankly speaking I became a Bangladeshi supporter after they defeated Pakistan (controversially). New Zealand VS Bangladesh Test Series First Test Well, where can I begin… I never expected them to win against the Kiwis. But after Bangladeshis managed to take 4 wickets for 54, I was hoping for at least a draw. But I think they got a little carried away with their momentary success. Even if they lost the first test, I was really impressed with khaled mashud’s batting. That guy really hammered New Zealand in the last few overs of the match ![]() ![]() . And I should admit his outburst made it worth staying up until 5 am following the match on cricinfo.org!!!Second test… Firstly they were unfortunate to have lost the toss. The extremely windy conditions made batting impossible for the inexperienced cubs in test cricket!!! I also feel that they were far too cautious at times. I know they had to stay in for a long period but at least they should've scored a few more runs. Maybe they should have played some hard strokes in intervals. That would’ve really unsettled the bowlers who seem to be having a good day. I only hope that they dismiss New Zealand before they score a huge total otherwise even a draw seem impossible right now. What do you feel about the performances of Habibul Bashar? I think he’s TOO GOOD! Although he didn’t get much score in the first innings of the second test, he can still prove himself to be among the top Test batsmen in South Asia (given his test averages so far!). For me at least, Mohammed Ashraful has been a real disappointment! I met him, along with the squad, personally in Singapore, when he went there to play a U-17 tournament and I found him to be a really gifted player. So I was expecting him to permanently seal his place in the squad by scoring some good innings. But it looks like he is having a stage fright . Anyways, I hope the team gives its best for the second test. Even if they fail to come out with anything spectacular, they should at least be warmed up for the coming test series with Pakistan. Hmm…. that’ll be really nice…![]() ![]() Hope to hear from you soon! Walaikumassalam

![]() ![]() mate there is no controversy about the match! ![]() we played well at that particular day and got the reward. we defeated pakistan not only in the match but in every section... batting, bowling and fielding!! i hope you will no more say this sorts of thing if you are a genuine supporter of bangladesh!! ![]() yes habibul bashar is the only batsman who has been proving that he can play test match! in fact he is the best bangladeshi batsman for last 2 years! today he scored 33 in 2nd innings you know. ![]() ![]() about mohammed ashraful... his performance is disappointing so far! but you can not want him to play a good innings in every match!! he is a genius no doubt about it... he is only 17 and we all bangladeshi believe that ashraful will start to play the key role in bangladesh batting soon. but he needs the opportunity to play, i hope the team selectors will not exclude him from the squad!! ![]() ![]()

Thanks for replying. Firstly, I don't think being a supporter takes away my right to criticize the team. I know they really played well against pakistan on that day but, common mate...why would the pakis make such a big issue out of it for no reason? I mean those guys banned amir sohail, fined wasim, saeed, inzi! There ought to be some truth in it I guess. But at the same time considering the type of politics that exist in pakistani cricket, I suppose you are also right in a certain way. Whatever happened...Bangladesh WON ![]() ![]() and it stays that way! Even if the Pakistanis proved that the match was fixed, I doubt the ICC is going to wipe off the match records in world cup tournament. Glad to know that you also feel Habibul is the best batsman. And about Ashraful...well don't you think he should have at least proved himself ONCE, given the fact that he palyed all 4 innings? There is no doubt he is good, but at the same time, he also has to prove himself from time to time. Nevertheless, I hope he and the rest of the bangladeshi team, will do much better in 3 weeks time, when they face the old 'enemy'!! ![]() ![]() WAS

Hi Shajib,
firstly da Pakistan game was not a set-up. If u was at da game u'd know wot I mean. Look at der squad... dey wanted to bowl us out cheaply, hence playing Shoiab, Waqar, Wasim and Azhar. U shouldn't seen the pace Shoiab was bowlin to our batsmen. In truth... we were da betta team on da day. Our batting, bowling, and mainly fielding was of high standards. secondly..... we lack patient, concentration and ability to play the longer version of da game. We have huge talents, no doubt, but we jus can't apply it to effect. Da players hav to get a grip of themselves and try and last a long time on da crease. We lost both the first and second test at new zealand by an innnings and runs. The first test should hav been drawn considerin dat da first 2 days were washed away by rain. Second test just showed how inexperienced da BD side is. By far Habibul is da best batsmen. Wid an average of 45.00, 1 century and 7 half-centuries, der's no doubt about his ability. Da introduction of Mashrafee has done wonders for da team. Da only genuine pace bowler to operate da new bowl... and da geezer can also bat (29 off 21 balls in 2nd test against new zealand). I reckon dis youngster will go a long way in da cricket arena. Ashraful has certainly dissapointed me. Being dayoungest centurion of cricket, a lot was expected, but he has performed since dat innings. Partly I blame da BCB cos dey plan to make him into a all-rounder rather than have him open for BD. Some day, I'd like to c Nafis Iqbal play for bangladesh. He has great talent, and has cricket in his blood (nephew of former great Akram Khan).
