Islamabad, April 30, IRNA -- A 17-member cricket team of Afghan Taliban is due to arrive in Pakistan on a week-long tour to Pakistan, during which it will
play four one-day matches against local Pakistani teams. A statement, released by the Pakistan Cricket Board, said the Taliban team would play two one-day matches against local teams in Peshawar, on May 10 and 11. On May 13, the Taliban team would proceed to Rawalpindi to play two one-day cricket matches against local teams of the city, on May 1 3 and 14. The statement said the Taliban team had been invited by the Pakistan Cricket Board and the latter would host it `as a goodwill gesture between the two countries to promote cricket in Afghanistan' |
