The Indian Foreign Ministry has reportedly (according to Dubai's Gulf News) taken a decision that the Indian cricket team will, after all, not take the Sharjah trip for the reason that Pakistan is participating in the tournament. Is it not ridiculuous?. If politics & religion is a dangerous mix, politics and sports isn't a lesser one either. Sad day for the followers of the game!.

Sharjah organisers vow to play even in India's absence

DAWN
Sharjah organisers vow to play even in India's absence: NEW DELHI, March 27: The chief organizer of cricket in Sharjah today vowed to go ahead with next month's limited-overs tournament despite India's reluctance to take part, said Abdurrehman Bukhatir, chairman of the Cricketers Benefit Fund Series (CBFS). High-level sources in the Indian home ministry told Star TV on Monday that the cricket team had been asked to pull out of the Sharjah tournament but not because Pakistan was also playing. "Intelligence reports say that the cricket played in Sharjah has connections with the underworld," Star TV quoted the sources as saying.

BJP should not interfering in Cricket like this. Pakistan has I believe declared that they would not play with India ever again. India was saying that the organizers in Sharzah are related to bookies and that's why theya re not playing.

The Cricket board people want to play and the players want to play. Its the govt. in power that keeps preventing them from doing so. So call the gvt. a loser not the team. Their hands are tied in this matter.
