Selectors eat humble pie
KARACHI, March 8: Whether Younis Khan completes his third century on Friday or not, his innings on Thursday was still a slap on the faces of the selectors who had ignored him for the home series against England late last year.

Younis, whose last Test innings was 116 in Sri Lanka, was overlooked for three Tests while Pakistan lost 1-0 for unexplained reasons. Prior to the ongoing Test, Younis had scored two centuries and a half century in nine Tests.

Unfortunately, the selectors have been committing bloopers after bloopers but each time they get away scot-free. There is no accountability as what are their merits and demerits for selection.

It would not be out of context to mention here that in the post- Imran Khan era, the incompetent selectors have destroyed the careers of 21 promising players who were never given enough chance to prove themselves at the top level.

With the PCB constitution undergoing changes, it is time that an additional clause should be added which could allow only for one specifed term for a selector like other Test playing countries

Way to go.

Managing to do that without the likes of Wasim, Saeed and Azhar Mehmood shows the depth of the Pakistan camp.

Congrats to them.
