Given the current performance of bangladesh cricket team, sometimes i wonder why do i still feel interest in our national team of cricket? Yes, the answer is, may be, i do feel a obvious affinity to my home team, same as others do. But to my mind, the answer is not complete yet. I know that majority of us will still point out to the fact that as a newly test status attained country,-though it has been almost 5 years-its still very early to expect any thing great from our national team being still a green horn in international cricket arena. To those, i must say you are wrong, if not, extraordinarily patient. Because if you look at our test history and try to visualize the performance vs. time graph, you will conceive a constantly falling curve. Just to aid your visualization, let me remind you about our grand test opening with grand performance against India, almost a win situation against Pakistan at paki's home ground !! But what's been going on since then ? Instead of showing day by day improving satisfactory performance, it seems to me, our 'great heros' are trying their level best to turn the whole game an indignant derision to the nation. So if they don't pull out of their slump, our national pride being a test status country may be in jeopardy. But if they can't and still we keep on endorsing them, then i can see only one reason to do that; JUST TO SHOW THE REST OF THE WORLD THAT THERE ARE AT LEAST 11 GENTLEMEN IN BANGLADESH !

Dude, bangladesh team is a very young team, look at most of their ages, 16-25. Do u expect this team to achieve something like beat a team of 25-35 year olds, i dont think so. Australian team is full of experienced, established over-30's who know each others games and have been playing alongside each other for a long time. the Bangladeshi cricket board and officials should understand that they should now continue to develop young players because maybe in 5 years time, bangladesh may become a force in world cricket, i know its a big call but u cant instill 28 year old brains into 19 year old heads. So i think the bangladeshi public should look to the future and see the talent that can be unleashed.
The current team should be developed and the bangladeshi cricket board should appoint a coach that can develop a the teams bonding and a sense of playing-for-each-other. If they keep changing coaches than it would cause great distress in the bangaldeshi squad let alone any other team. |
