Bangladesh's most prolific batsmen Habibul Bashar has been named as the new Bangladesh captain.
This change has come due to the dismal performance of former captain Khaled Mahmud, who has been left out of the forthcoming test series, but has been named for the one day series.

I wish da brudder all da luck. Although he wasn't my first choice as captain cos i feel it may cause a deterance in his performance (something we can't afford).

He makes his captaincy debut next month wen Bangladesh will tour Zimbabwe for a 3 test n 5 ODI series.

(Nice to have some professionalism back in this forum)

They had to get rid of that guy - he was a genuine sunday-league cricketer.

i just wish Alok would live up to his potential..

it's a pity that bowler got his knee messed up, he looked good against England.

Hey brudder Star, man i thought u retired from dis site mr. OAP
So u grown a white beard down to ur knees yet

Yeah u rite bout former captain Mahmud. He was talentless and definately needed to go.
Latest news is dat Mahmud has retired from international cricket, hours after the new captain was named.

Alok Kapali has been a let down recently. He certainly has the making of a top class player, jus needs to get his act together again.

Mashrafee is da best bowler we have. It is a shame dat he is injured. He give fire to da bowling attack and i feel dat we will struggle without him and Mohammed Shariff both out injured.

Mahmud reverses decision to retire from international cricket

SOURCE: BBC NEWS

Bangladesh all-rounder Khaled Mahmud has reversed his decision to retire from international cricket.
Mahmud announced his retirement on Sunday after he was dropped for the forthcoming tour to Zimbabwe, with Habibul Bashar taking over as skipper.

"There were requests from every corner that compelled me to give the decision a second thought," he said.

"Since they still believe in me, I had no other option but to honour their faith."

Mahmud, a one-day specialist before he was handed the Test captaincy, is likely to be included in the limited-overs squad for the five-match series that follows the Tests.

Mahmud took over as skipper when wicket-keeper Khaled Mashud was sacked in the wake of Bangladesh's poor performance at last year's World Cup.

He led Bangladesh in nine Tests and 15 one-day internationals, all of which ended in defeat.

But they went close to a first-ever Test victory against Pakistan in Multan last year before losing the match by one wicket.
