I would politely ask them to refrain from smoking, in my presence. They are not only damaging their own health, but mine as well, through passive smoking. If he/she were a true friend, I¡¦m sure they would happily agree.


However, I would not abandon my friendship over their smoking. As they have the choice as to whether to smoke or not. This is a choice only they can make. Remaining their friend, I may in time persuade them to give up on the habit.


I believe smoking is considered Makru by learned Islamic scholars. Therefore, although, it is not a haram activity, it is considered better if one refrains from it.


Option one ie. taking up smoking due to peer pressure, is not an option.

well im a smoker, so if someone offered me a cigarette, ill take it

if you dont want to smoke, then dont init, surely they cant force you to have one, i dont think smoking should be a issue where people break up over it, its not such a big problem in my opinion

if friends offering you a cigarette is as bad as it gets for you then your getting of light. Perhaps ur jus young? as you get older u'll notice that freinds provide you with more tests that are a whole lot more complex than whether or not to smoke.

anyway a little passive smoking isnt gona harm you, im sure of this. jus keep healthy yourself and make the ocasional joke about loosing 5mins of life with every fag.

Habiba is quite young so smoking is a very big thing for her but i think it is quite a big thing too. Personally if i was offeed a fag then i would most definitely not accept it. But thats up to me, as im sure the resat of you have made similar decisions about it too whether to smnoke or not to. I have never even tried a fag before and i dont intend to coz from other peeps stories it aint even nice but afterwards u like the taste. i dont wanna get involved n make my slef addicted. I personally would like to live a fairly long life, not die wen im 40! And if you already got other health probs then it aint a v gd idea!

if a friend offered me a fag i'd take it and smoke it.Only a true friend would give me a cig for free
