Talking

for my final art assignment, which is worth 30% of my final mark, I have this "Building Block of Inclusivity" to create.

basically, the 'building block' is a metaphor, and what Ive gotta do is show, in an artistic form (note that art can take practically ANY form!), show how we can make a society that encompasses every walk of life.
the teacher just told us this, and gave us a very broad range of things to do...actually, we can present this in ANNNNNNNY way we choose.

examples she provided are: last year, a kid brought two eggs: a brown & white one. then broke them both into a bowl and asked ppl to differentiate the two. obviously noone could. so this proved that outside we may be able to tell a difference, but at the end of the day we are all, in this case, eggs.

but the teacher also stated that the kid that did this did not get a good mark, bcoz we get 2 weeks classtime to do this project, andd she wants us to see us work. this egg thing took perhaps maybe 5 min to do.

a level 4 (the highest possible level you can get) type project she said, was of a girl who created a book. and each page was that of a different material. and all the materials felt different, had different textures, designs et cetera. but despite the difference of the physical things, all materials were indeed pages that came together to form a book. and every page the chick put something, like one page dedicated to her friends, another to her family, school, teachers & so forth.

so...my lovely fellow Bcommers...any ideas?

APN,

you've posted how many of these project threads???

has anyone ever given you any ideas that you could actually use for your projects?

if so- did you put down their names in the bibliography or did all the credit go to APN

*lol*

Thats a bit harsh

the egg girl coulda spent two weeks coming up with the idea!

i thought teachers would have appreciated a bit of originality, but no instead they go with the book girl (i thought that project sounded a bit naff myself)

anyway, if i come up with any bright ideas, i'll let you know....

Okay

i'm thinkin excrement - the embodiment of modern art.

we have a chinese baby - a black baby - and a white baby

sitting on a potty

they have a dump then get up and walk away

then the camera zooms in on the pottys and you get to see that it all looks identical -

and you get James Earl Jones (guy with the famous voice) to read out:

"**** happens"

- and it looks and smells exactly the same whether you're black or white

Ye - i know it's not quite there - the message isn't quite right yet is it?? - but hopefully it might help trigger a few more ideas..

This sounds like my job! Bedpan after bedpan! Yes, all different kinds of people; different skin tones, cultures, religions, families, problems or issues, histories, personalities, etc. But they all bleed red blood! They are all human!
And APN, you could do a project on how blood is typed and crossmatched, yet no one knows whose blood is saving their life!

i take my inspiration from South Park.

perhaps you could invest in some fleas. then you could put them in a evolutionary acceleration tank and use time-lapse photography to show how these quite simple fleas evolve into societies, cultures, perform social acts (like concerts) and also partake in war.

then you could meddle a bit and cause an interstellar (i.e. other side of tank) war between the two religious cults the fleas split into (the believers in The One APN vs those who don't believe) ans demonstrate the effects of a mini-nuclear war.

this would be ideal as it could be used to show all walks of life. fleas who made it (raja fleas) and fleas who didnt (tramp fleas on the streets). fleas who died too young and fleas who had homosexual marriages

or alternatively you could use bacteria and a microscope...?
