Talking Keep Going Padre

Keep going Padre! But, don't forget about "Rice Christians" By they way, I had a cup of tea with Rev. Cruise who respects Quran very much and finds comfort too. And would you believe it is very easy as there are only one version of it rather than millions! Join the club, after all we all aree seeking the truth.

Question AGAINST SUCH VIRTUES, NO LAW IS NEEDED..

Thank you Star for your magnanomous concern for the Christians in Bangladesh. I assure you and the Christians in Bangladesh, I have no hidden aganda or cryptic motives by posting links for Bangladesh Christian believers. In fact, when I named my thread, I thoughtfully considered the wording as to not act as a lure to Muslims or other faiths. I understand they have their connections, and I respect that, and certainly wouldn't try to interject Christian objections in a Muslim link directory, I would respectfully start a new thread and develop my faith there. The thread I started here is a liaison for Christians, which I make clear form the start.

My background is distinguished and decorated, and more importantly, irrelevant. If sited, it would only serve to enhance the thread starter, a form of creature credit that I am uninterested in. So, naturally, the need to include my resume was not even considered. My intersts? The art and science of Biblical interpretation, & systematic translation from the original languages. This information, too, changes nothing, but to draw attention to the messenger at the expense, I believe, of the message. My motives are obvious aren't they? I am offering to Bangladesh Christians a directory to Christanity. My desires? This is getting strange; that the Christians of Bangladesh have the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and grow in their faith with the aid of many time-tested, credible ministries. How would this information have posssibly changed anything, accept to the thread's advantage? This absent background information you claimed should warrant caution clearly serves no real purpose in this thread, and if anything, it might have appeared as welcome mat to those who want to debate believes; that's a different discussion for a different thread, and such debate, which often gets nasty and personal, is something I was hoping to avoid. This thread is a directory, like a phone book - it is not a sermon, an opportunity to bring glory or recognition to the thraed starter, or a call to spar theology with TheMinister.

Now I have a concern. The wording of YOUR alleged concern seems nothing more than an attempt to cast some degree of scepticism on the links, probably because you have deep seated objections to the tenents of Christianity. These links are innocent and harmless. They teach love for all, caring for orphans, helping the sick and poor, caring for widows, family love and unity, respect for parents, teachers, and those in authority, loving your friends, family and even your enemies. . . against such virtues, warnings for caution are unnecessary.

Forgive me, but what are Rice Christians?

Versions of scripture is a discussion that need not be discussed in this Thread. I assume there is a logical reason we name threads, so proper responses can be placed in the proper thread. No? There is a good response to you subtle criticism regarding differing versions of sacred Scripture, but now is not the time or place for it.

If the son will make you free, you will be free indeed.

At least I got the venerable Mr Minister to speak....

You say yourself that you have a "distinguished and decorated" background...

Pray answer Mr Minister why you do not consider the Religion of the the Messenger Muhammad (SAS) who was the last in the succesion of Messengers including Adam, Abraham, Moses, and Isa (Jesus) (pbut) - who was born an orphan and given the specific references to caring for orphans and warnings against mistreating orphans in Islam.

Unhappy THE DECK IS STACKED AGAINST CHRIST, BUT THAT'S THE STORY OF HIS LIFE

Even the moderator allows religious passion to interfere with proper placement of a topic. This is a Christian thread, which allows Christian believers to connect with Christian ministries to discuss Christian issues and doctrines. How anyone inferred that this would be a good place to debate the validity of Muhammad's status as a prophet, or the Bible/Koran debate, is beyond me? I am making an address book available, that's it. All attempts at apologetics or theological skermishes are way off the beaten path, and should submit that topic for a new thread.

It seems to me a moderator's role should be more impartial; more of a watch dog role against such misplaced replies. I could be wrong, but I assume a funtion of the moderator is to ensure that a level playing field is maintained, so healthy, productive exchange of ideas could flourish. Also, to ensure that replies are submitted in their proper forums and threads. If the moderator's are not going to insure a buffer zone respecting contrary religious positions within a thread, and demonstrate good discretion as to how and where to interject a thought, how do you expect the members to submit topics in the appropriately? I will be happy to exchange with you sometime in a debate-orientated discussion, but in the proper thread, not here. Peace.
