Pakistan is a very interesting case study, as it was created for Muslims, yet the situation we see today is unbecoming of Muslims. Shia/Sunni hatred, ethnic conflicts between Sindhis, Muhajirs etc. political corruption and so on. And now we have the nuclear bomb which was a shock when I heard about it. I could not believe that Muslims would want to produce such deadly weapons where more innocent people are killed. And it is sad to see that some Muslim groups support the use of an atomic bomb against an enemy during war. Out of all the Muslim leaders in our countries, the only one who I think made a lot of sense with regards to the nuclear bomb issue was the late Ayatollah Khomeini. Whilst I do not agree with his foreign policies against the USA, UK and some Middle Eastern countries, he was spot on when it came to the nuclear issue. He said that Iran would not produce a nuclear bomb because it was unIslamic. And I cannot see how those Muslims who support the use of nuclear weapons can be any better than the Israeli soldiers who killed innocent children, or the Serbian soldiers who raped and killed women, men and children, or the Sipa-e-Sahaba terrorists who murdered innocent Shias etc. And if there are reactionaries who argue that other countries possess nuclear weapons and hence we should.... then it goes to show how low we have come.

I think we should write to the Govt. of Pakistan to ensure the protection and saftey of the Shia community in Pakistan.
An that the Govt. should destroy its nuclear arsenal.

Also Govt should end all guns and all knives and then let india and America come and attack ....
I am seriously effended from your post ..

Look at those countries that are slaves of other like india. Pakistan is slave of America because we are weaker then them now but at least we are not slaves of India. I want that Govt should make more weapons to attack on Israil and Russia to end oppression there. and to end Slavery of USA ....

think before writing again ...
do you understand that ...

Passer-by killed, six hurt in SSP workers-police clash

JHANG, Feb 28: A passer-by was killed and six injured, two of them critically, in a shoot out between police and Sipah-i-Sahaba activists, guarding the SSP headquarters, in Mohalla Piplianwala.

Police had virtually laid a siege to the SSP headquarters since the last night to thwart the possibility of any violent activity in reaction to the hanging of Sheikh Haq Nawaz and after the arrival of his body here.

Eye witnesses said the people inside the mosque were repeatedly warning the police through loudspeakers to lift the siege and allow free movement of people in and out of the Markaz, housed in the Jamia Masjid Haq Nawaz Shaheed.

People inside the Markaz reportedly started pelting stones on the police some of which hit an officer standing outside.

The police retaliated by resorting to tear gas shelling. The use of tear gas was still on when some people gathered on the roof of the houses around the mosque and started firing in the air and throwing burning tyres on the police present in the congested streets beneath.

Police also fired shots in the air to disperse the people standing on the rooftops. The shootout continued for 10 to 15 minutes. As a result Shehzad Ahmed (25), a labourer, was killed and six others, Bashir, Tauseef, Iftikhar, Khalid, Fahim and Mazhar Saleem were injured.

Bashir and Fahim were critically injured. The later was shifted to the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, while the former was operated upon in the DHQ Hospital, Jhang Sadar.

Police officials talking to Dawn denied having restricted the movement of people around the SSP Markaz and that anybody had been killed or injured by the police firing.

The police claim to have identified the culprits of the firing incident that resulted in the death of a passerby.

Earlier, all roads leading to Jhang were blocked by the police since five in the morning. No vehicle was allowed to leave or enter till 1.30 pm, causing great inconvenience to the general public.

All city bazaars and markets remained closed and there was a complete shutter down, more out of fear of loss to property. The district courts also gave a deserted look as the lawyers remained confined to their chambers.

Heavy contingents of police from adjoining districts had started reaching Jhang since Tuesday as reinforcement. Toba Tek Sing SSP Amin Zulfiqar reached Jhang with three buses carrying policemen. Earlier, five buses carrying Punjab constabulary personnel were seen entering the town on the morning of Monday.

The body of Haq Nawaz was brought to his house in Mohalla Ahmadnagar, Marzipura Gharbi, on Collage Road at 10.50 am. The Sipah-i-Sahaba wanted funeral prayers to be held either at Islamia High School ground or the Church ground, both situated in the city centre and close to sensitive points, but the district administration did not allow it and eventually the Namaz-i-Janaza took place at the Government College for Boys ground in the outskirts of the town.

Some two to three thousand people attended the funeral before which SSP leaders Abdul Ghafoor Jhangvi, Shaikh Hakim Ali and Zahid Qasmi delivered speeches. They warned the government that hangings could not deter the SSP.

After the funeral the district administration took the charge of the ambulance carrying the dead body and took it to the Jamia Mehmoodia via Ayub Chowk, Chiniot Mor and Jamia Chowk. At Jamia Mehmoodia another funeral was held and later the body was buried amid tight security.

Our Mianwali correspondent adds: Sheikh Haq Nawaz was hanged in the Central Jail at 6.30 am. His dead body was sent to Jhang for burial at 7.30.

As soon as the ambulance carrying the body left the jail, two relatives of the deceased laid down before the vehicle so that the local workers of the SSP could have a last look. Only six members of the family were with the dead body.

Earlier, a group of 33 men and women, including father, mother, brothers, sisters and close relatives of Haq Nawaz had a last meeting with him on Tuesday evening.

Assalamu Alaikum,

I agree with br. mhnew that this should not be one-sided. But I would re-iterate that shia brothers should be protected from the vile group, Sipa-e-Sahaba, and even though some of its members are in jail, more preventative measures should be taken. It is true that other groups should be protected as well, namely Qadiyanis, Hindus etc etc. I recall that after the Babri Mosque disaster there was a tit-for-tat demolition of Hindu temples in Pakistan...which was unwarranted.

I don't think that br. Faisal Aslam responded to my previous posting. It might help if he pointed out to the sentence or paragraph which he disagrees with.

Wassalam
Hasan

Assalam-o-Alliakum
you said ......

........

First I do not agreed about Atom Bomb thing.
Either there should be no atom bomb in the world or all should have that ...
Either your enemy have no gun or you much also have gun. If your enemy have gun and you does not have it then it mean you are inviting him to kill you.
If india have bomb and pakistan does not then it mean ..... Pakistan want india to concur and kill inocient there.

You know we have first war in 1948 and second in 1965 and third in 1971 and then in early 80s we have atom bomd so no more full scale wars now ... because of deterrent of it.
So now we are only fighting Gurila war .. Small scale wars..like in Kashmir and in Kargil....

You know how india is speaking after testing its bomb like "Now pakistan should learn to live under india infulence" and "Now India is looking for other part of Kashmir too" and thing like these. At that time all people in Pakistan get united that Pakistan should test bomd. And all people feel relax when that happened...

If Japan have atom bomb in 1945 world war then USA never dare to put bomb on them....

I am happy that Pakistan in April lunching its second satellite (Badar-B) and it is really good ...

So I do not agree with you that we should end our capability and let india and israil to do what they want . But we should increase it to the extend the we can liberate phalisteen and Chechnia ...
Atom bomb is not to kill all other people but it is for detterent and to stop other to use against us ....

Also You said like Pakistan is doing nothing to stop voilence between Shia and Sunni and you want to say Pakistan Govt to do something. Which annoyed me as we are trying to stop it and someone not needed to say any thing to us.....
