ABCNews Oct. 22 — Sundays were always quiet, relaxed
days at the Marine camp at Beirut International
Airport.
Maj. Bob Jordan, one of 1,000 marines stationed there,
woke up just before 6 a.m. to sunshine and the promise of
made-to-order omelets, a picnic for lunch and some
afternoon exercise.
Twenty minutes later “the loudest explosion I have ever
heard in my life blew the door off its hinges and caved in
one of the corrugated steel walls.”

Mystery Attack
It was Oct. 23, 1983. The camp had been attacked, but by
who or what he did not know.
Jordan picked his way through rubble toward the main
barracks about 100 yards from his quarters, thinking a
missile had hit them.
“I went down the stairs — the same stairs we’d sat on
the night before to watch a show,” he said. “The whole
area was filled rubber and pulverized cement. It was
everywhere as far as you could see. I saw what looked like
an uprooted tree with jagged limbs. As I came closer I
realized it was a human body because blood was running
from the limbs.”
That sunny Sunday, a truck loaded with 2,000 pounds of
TNT sped through the camp’s gate into the marble
entrance of the Marine headquarters in Beirut. The driver,
who witnesses described as a smiling young man, detonated
the load inside the building, killing himself along with 241
American servicemen.
Someone had added compressed gas to the TNT,
making it ten times more powerful and leveling the
four-story building.
Jordan, who handled public relations for the camp, was
46 years old at the time. He retired the next year shortly
after returning home and helped found the Beirut Veterans
of America. Each year, hundreds of military personnel and
civilians gather at the Beirut Memorial in Jacksonville, N.C.
to honor those who died.

Memorial and Another Incident
On Monday, more than 1,000 people, including Jordan, are
expected to gather for this year’s service, the 17th
anniversary. But this year is a little different. As many
remember their friends and family members who died, and
the hard times following the bombing, a similar story seems
to be unfolding once again.
The 17 sailors killed in the apparent suicide bombing of
the USS Cole Oct. 12 as it lay anchored in a Yemenese
port refueling, will be in the back of Jordan’s and many
other people’s mind.
“The USS Cole explosion definitely adds another
dimension to this year’s service,” said Marine spokesperson
Master Gunnery Sgt. Art Prioletta. “It’s hard not to think of
it.”
Seventeen years ago, news of the Beirut bombing
prompted much soul-searching within the American public
and the U.S. Congress, much as the bombing of the Cole
has done today. Then, memories of the United States’
involvement in Vietnam crept into the public debate.
Congress asked, why were we in Lebanon? why didn’t the
marines in Beirut have more weaponry and protection in a
volatile situation?
Now once again, the USS Cole explosion has Congress
and the American public questioning whether U.S.
servicemen are adequately protected on their missions. The
question repeatedly asked this week, why was a U.S.
destroyer refueling in Yemen, a country known to house
representatives of at least two radical Islamic groups? How
was a ship loaded with explosives able to get so close to the
Cole?

Swaying American Opinion
Maj. Jordan said he believes Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed
group behind the bombing of the barracks, and other
Muslim fundamentalists such as Osama bin Laden carry
out bombings and kidnappings to sway popular American
opinion against keeping American military personnel in the
Middle East.
In 1983, Lebanon was bring torn apart by a civil war,
and the U.S. hoped to support a government friendly to the
United States and Israel, but also strove to be an “honest
broker” in the conflict.
“I think our mission was working in Lebanon. I think our
presence there was helping to bring stability and peace to
the Lebanese government,” said Jordan. Hezbollah “just
couldn’t let that happen so they had to do something drastic
that involved a high number of casualties to try and
undermine U.S. support for our mission.”
Regardless of whether Jordan is correct in his
assessment, after the barracks bombing, the U.S. role in
Lebanon was never the same. The battle ship New Jersey
shelled Lebanese positions, the United States was drawn
into supporting some factions against others. In 1984, just
two years after the first U.S. troops went to Lebanon at the
request of the Lebanese government, the Reagan
administration decided to pull out of the country.
Turning popular opinion against a U.S. presence in Arab
countries, “was also the motivation behind the USS Cole
incident, I think,” said Jordan, although it remains unclear
who was behind that attack, he said.

The Birth of the Zionist Entity in Palestine

On May 1949, the General Assembly of International Security Council
recognized Israel as a state established on Palestinian land. Israel's
first
government was headed by David Ben Gorion. As a consequence, Palestine,
particularly, and Middle East region, generally, entered in a bloody
conflict which continues till the present day. The declaration of
Israel's
State was not a sudden result of 1948-War, but has much deeper roots
dating
back to the old British imperialist movement.

The idea of establishing the State of Israel emerged in the wake of
what was
later known by as the Balfour Declaration, in which Arthur James
Balfour,
the British Prime Minister, promised in 1917 that Britain will do its
best
to establish a Jewish national home in Palestine. This ill-omened
Declaration was the starting point for all events which preceded the
Declaration of the Israeli State.

Early this century, Britain's policy had been going towards settling
down
the British presence in India, Egypt and vast parts of Africa to
protect the
roads leading to these settlements. However, Palestine had a strategic
position for it is essential to protect the Sinai and the Suez Canal.
Additionally, it is located on the road between India and Africa. As a
result, Britain concluded that it is very necessary to put this region
under
its control, through settling foreign people, which would serve as a
buffer
zone. At the same time, the Zionist Movement was seeking to establish a
state. On the other hand, in the Zionist First Summit, held in Basel,
Switzerland in 1897, 23 Jewish leaders announced that Jews should
establish
a Jewish state in Palestine and remove all the current inhabitants.

As a result, the Zionist and the British interests had intersected, and
consequently, an alliance between these two imperialistic powers had
formed.

It is very obvious that the real dimensions of this alliance was
represented
in statements and attitudes of Jewish and British leaders. For
instance, Ben
Gorion said:" Britain is protecting us, so we must not be at the back
ranks.
We have to form Jewish Militia to protect ourselves and destroy Arabs.
This
will not, simply, be achieved unless we received support and aid from
Britain". While Azar Weizman said in his memories:" There was a
confidential
agreement in which Britain had engaged itself to hand over Palestine
without
Arab people to us in 1934". Churchill, British Prime Minister, said in
response to Arabs' demand of revoking Balfour Declaration:" They ask
for me
to reject Balfour Declaration and haul Jewish immigration. I can't do
that,
and I don't wish also. I think it is much better for world, Jews,
Britain
and Arabs also to implement this Declaration. Establishing Jewish state
on
Jordan's River bands with 4 or 5 million Jews will be in Britain's
interest".

prime Minister Churchill did not concern himself about the fairness of
removing an entire population from their homeland but was more
concerned
about what is in Britain's interests. This is not democracy or liberty
but
racism and colonialism. In this way Britain, then Palestine's Mandatory
Power, sought to establish a Jewish state in the colony of Palestine.

On April 5th, 1920 the League of Nations decided that Britain is going
to be
the mandatory power in Palestine, In its turn, Britain had appointed
the
Jewish Herbert Samuel as its high Commissioner who accepted the
cooperation
with the Jewish Organization. On the other hand and inspite of the
protests,
Balfour said:" Zionism is more important than 700,000 Arab
Palestinians".

Thus, Mandatory Power started to bring Jews from all over the world and
settled them in Palestine. Furthermore, the British government had
granted
the Jewish Organization vast powers to bring ten thousands of Jewish
people
a year. Also, Mandatory Power helped Jews on dominating strategic
positions
inside Palestine for establishing settlements. On the other hand, this
Power
had forced the Arab farmers to sell their lands because of their
incapability to pay back the debts and loans.

The Jews began to surge into Palestine. So, while their number was 58
thousand in 1918, this number increased to 92 thousand between 1939 to
1945,
then to 161 thousand between 1946 and 1948 to reach to 4.2 million in
1992.

The British-Jewish coordination continued until the Jews knew that,
unlike
American Power, Britain's imperialistic power was about to collapse.
So,
Jews went to the side of United States which completely supported them.
Rejecting U.S.A. to interfere in the Palestinian issue, British
government
decided to refer the subject to Security Council.

In 1947, Security Council issued its Resolution of Dividing Palestine
into
two regions: Arab (11500 km.squar) and Jewish (14100 km.sq.). As a
result of
Military clashes inside Palestine, Security Council froze its
Resolution on
March 1948. The Jews began, on April 1948, their aggressions. As a
result,
the Jews conquest most of Arab cities and villages after they had
evacuated
them from Arab population. At this time, Argon's gangs headed by
Minahim
Beigen committed a terrifying massacre at Dair Yassine killing about
250
women, children and old men. After the massacre, Beigen said:" Were it
not
For victory of Air Eosin, Israel would not had been ever". John Kimchi,
Jewish writer, commented:" It is an ugliest shameful stain in Jews'
history".

Thus, we can see that the conspiracy was created by Zionism, supported
by
Britain and sponsored by U.S.A.

So, killing, terrorism and displacing peoples are basic elements on
which
Israel State established and grew in addition to claim on an alleged
religious right to Palestinian Land.

Before Zionist occupation, number of Jews in Palestine was about 58
thousand
who were living in peace with 642 thousand Arab citizens, both Moslems
and
Christians.

In fact, not all Zionists, now presented in Palestine, are Semitics. As
Jewish sources say that about 82% of Zionists who are, now, staying and
governing Israel, are non-Semitic Jews.

Imam Sadiq [a] said: "The heart is the sanctuary of Allah,
therefore, do not settle therein anything but Allah.

I find it most disturbing with the recent events in Palestine.

We all know the attrocities that are occuring. Our greatest worry is for the MANY innocent people who have been caught up in this.

I just hope that the western governments stop putting negative pressure on the opposing sides and give proper humanitarian aid.

Thumbs up

Nice posting Mahdi!

I have seen many Bangladeshis are really ignorant of their heritage! Some of them are even hesitant to forcefully stand up for Palestinian rights! We all know that so-called Israel don't belong on Palestinian soil - I don't deny the right of the Jews to have an state; that state should be on German soil. Muslims always protected the Jews from Roman/Christian oppression for ages; there are still Jews living in Istanbul. See how they pay us back!

It is undeniable that Savage British destroyed the most Muslim empires - the Ottoman empire, the Mogul empire - not to mention hundreds of years of colonization of Mogul Empire (so-called "India"). When the British came to Mogul empire, her GDP was 25% of world GDP; when the British left, it was 5% of world GDP. See the scale of exploitation!

Judai/Christian world has done more than it's fair share attempting to destroy Muslims.

How are you paying 'em back? First, you can try to boycott British product e.g. stop flying British Airways, stop watching BBC etc.

Also see how America is paying for its wrong foreign policy! By aligning itself to the zionist state, numerous American lives are being slaughtered. It's foreign policy is against the very values America stand for - Democracy. When the world opinion is on Palestine's side; America is blatantly disregarding the democrating principles by siding the Zionist child-molesters!

Have your voice being heard loud and clear; send email to the white house protesting America's stand on this and urge US to relocate Israel to Germany for a permanent solution of middle-east problem! Send email to:
president@whitehouse.gov

Last of all, Empower yourself. Get all the military training that you can get. Also prepare muslim women how to fight instead of bearing stone-throwing children!

The game is just getting started! And "The blood of tyrants will pave the way to freedom!"

Keep the hope alive!

Salam,
HabaGoba

Beirut will not be forgotten. Anyone who believes that he or she can harm an unbeliever ought to think twice.
In Beirut they as well attacked the French Foreign Legion. Do they really think they have not hit back already. Most of the planners of those attacks have been assasinated.
