ISLAM and the limits of Science

In todays new topic I wish to discuss the limits of science.
Many muslims have thought and writtten about the relationship of Islam and Science. They have usually thought and wriiten about the relationship of Islam and Science. They have usually tried to show that Islam agrees with Science, and that nothing in Islam is against Science. And this is certainly true. There are very few facts that would directly disagree with what is written in the Quran or Hadith. One problem they face is that the Science itself is always changing, so that the ideas with with which Islam is compared are different every few years. For example the Eternty of the Cosmos was a widespread scientific view some time ago, but now scientist think the Cosmos arose in some kind of big bang, which looks very like very like the moment of creation by Allah Ta'ala. But on the whole it seems reasonable to think that Islam and Science agree on Facts.
Many of these Muslims, however, have fallen into a serious error over the relationship of Islam & science.
Hope you're still paying attention, especiialy Born Again with a closed Mind.
Getting back to the topic;
In the nineteenth century, when the West came to dominate the Muslim world , modern science was relatively new. And this modern science had a tremendous reputation. This was the age of the worsihp of science. Science was regarded as superior to many other types of knowledge or wisdom that had ever previously existed.
Now many of the Muslims who wrote in the relationship of Islam and modern science worshipped science as much as did the west. When they wrote that Science agreed with Islam, this was a way of praising Islam, which was "almost as good" or even "equal" to Science. Science was king, and Islam has agreed with the King!!
Now this is a wrong idea of the relation of Islam and Science. In fact it is Islam which is superior, and Science which comes second. If Science agrees with Islam, this is a praise for Science, not for Islam.
I feel a good attitude of Islam to Science was given by the likes of Imam Ghazzali nine hundred years ago. He said that science was perfectly true, but was narrow. Maths, for example, is perfectly true, but covers only a very limited area of human knowledge. And Science as a whole was narrow and limited.
Science, he said, was a work of human reason, and human reason was far inferior to Prohecy. Prophets had a wisdom and knowledge far superior to any science. Prophecy gave total wisdom , while science only gave a narrow part of wisdom.
Now I know what Born-again and his Charlie Brown Possie are thinkin', because me know how they think (or Knave).
The obvios question is this: If science os narrower than Islam, in what way is Science Narrow? What does science miss out, which prophecy includes? If huamn reason is limited, and needs prophecy, what is the limit of human reason? What can science and human reason not see what the Prohet Muhammed (SAW) could see? If we know the answer to this question, then we will know what is the relation of Islam and Science.
The answer is equally obvios. Science cannot see the unseen. And what is in the unseen is above all Mercy.
The Prohet Muhammed (SAW) wass ent to tell us above all of the day of Judgement, of the Grave, Heavon and Hell. No scientists will ever see thos things in Text books. And the existence of the Day of Judgment, the grave, heavon and hell teaches us to be merciful. If we are not merciful, but cruel and selfish, then we will have a fearsome time in the judgement to come!!
Islam also teaches that Allah is Rahman and Rahim, which means totaaly full of mercy. It is the mercy of Allah which no scientists can see.
The limits of human reason and science is, then that, they are unable to see the need to be merciful and kind, because they cannot Allah the merciful, and cannot know Allah forces Humanity to be merciful by bringing them to Judgement.
Islam and science are sperior to Science and human reason. Example, the narrowness in Science which missed out mercvy is very clear if you look at the world as it is pictures by Science. The Cosmos is seen as a vast empty lonely void, lonrly in it's unmeasurable vastness, cold and hostile to Humanity, totally lacking in Mercy. Life among the animals is seen by science as fearful merciless selfish competition as pictured by Darwin. Economics as a science, is known as "the dismal science" because it teaches the eternity of compettion and cruel poverty, and teaches that mercy has no place in the market.
But Mercy stands at the centre of Islam. The prohet Muhammed (SAW) was the most merciful man of his and all time and taught to be kind and merciful.
Later I will discuss how science was limited by Cristainity and as a direct result the Renaiscance took place. How then Science became Divorced from prohecy, in the period between 1680 and 1715.

First I would like to give you a BIG welcome to this site

Now I would like to get straight to the topic!
I have enjoyed reading your topic however I would like to point out a few things that SOME do not fully understand why we use science to explain our religion.
I hope you have read some of the topics that were written earlier
The others and myself refereed to science many times in our topics.
Every thing that we have mentioned in our topics are from the Quran and NOT from our mind! or opinions
The reason we used science is to provide the evidence of the true religion.
The true book.
And the true prophet.

I agree it is not correct to regard as science as 'superior'..
But I hold this strong believe and I think other people in this forum will agree with me. As Muslims we should be well versed in such 'facts' in order to fight back against these Kuffar!.

The reason we referred to science & scientific facts when we explained our religion to other is because they don’t believe in the Quran.
And they don’t believe in the authentic Hadihs.
These people are determined that they will never accept anything other then scientific facts.
We did not use these scientific facts to show off our knowledge or to impress others.

Our aims was NOT to silence them!
But to 'persuade' them….
To persuade them to see the truth…
