Brother Wais, last I heard of Sudan was that Dr Turabai and the country's military ruler have some what "fallen out". the military government I heard is trying to side line Turabai and he is in a bad position since he has no formal position in the government!!!

Although I appreciate your concern Bengali Nutter, I think you are creating an unnecessary and rather confusing debate, which will not be an incentive for anyone interested in Islam. I suggest that you delete this posting now. Thanks.

AR, I believe Turabi still works from behind the scenes on matters concerning Islamic politics. The power struggle and split within the Sudanese government may be the work of external influence because the country's economic health is deteriorating by the day and co-operation with the outside world can only be through Turabi's competitors who may well have been funded to instigate this problem of internal politics. Please know that I am NOT 100% sure on any of these matters. Just speculation and own analysis.
