I can'nt beleive you said something like that, but in any case your statement is a contradiction in terms. And no no muslims gets stuck with such silly things, becasue islam is not here to amuse any one but its here to show light and guidence for all mankind.

Intresting question that, wahid. And hey Rahman its not a stupid question. The greek pilosophers confronted these questions
Ibn tayimmiya pbuh tackled it in a clever way. The answer to this philosophical problem is as follows; Every thing a human being sees hears eats and feels is DEPENDENT AND LIMITED. He'she can only only feel a limited amount..see a limited amount etc therefore a human being cannot or does not have the knowledge to understand what a being who is INDEPENDENT AND UNLIMITED would do in any given situation. That is becuase philosophically speaking the ultimate source of all knowledge is the five senses..if all our primary senses are limited than we can only understand limited and dependent things. And allah is INDEPENDENT AND UNLIMITED....... PS..may allah forgive any mistakes they are all un intended. ------------------ |

I still thin that was a stupid question to ske specially on this site, as there are many voulchers waiting to attack!
OK the Greeks philosophers tackled it, but where did it get them, and where is greek philosophy now? If I was secular, humanist, etc I would say that (what Taymiyya answered in relation to this question according to you) is not good enough, and is in no way convincing. And accoring to your evidence i.e. Tayymia that limited will not undestand the Unlimited then this question is also thrown out, becasue its a question asked by the limited about the unlimited. |

Salaam,
Brother Abdur Rahman I agree with you 100%. The Jews tried this kind of questioning with the Prophet (PBUH), which is basically asking one to describe the nature of Allah. The Prophet replied with Sura Iklaas. These kinds of questions are only asked by fools or those who do not believe in Allah as our Creator. Because of our limited minds, in answering these kinds of mischievous, questions we would be using human methods - this is ridiculous - how can we use our limited human logic and methods to describe Allah. Now if I was a Chritian, I would have made an attempt at that question. |

salaam brothers
The point is Ibn tyimyya pbuh was andstill is a renowned scholar of islam. Brother Nur and Rahman u provemy point better than i do. The greeks were theopposing civilisation for centuries that is why the muslim scholars of Baghdada and cairo in the 11th century had all greatgreek philosophical work translated. The greeks and the now christians (well most of the greeks adopted Christianity after one of their ceasers became christian)were the only formidableattckers onIslam, they were to use brother rahmans words 'vultures' to islam. it was with these questions that they tried to bring doubt into the minds of many muslims and it was ibn tayimya who settled the debate in the favour of muslims. It is ibn tayimya who turned doubt into into a strength for the muslims. In the end the greeks lostand christians have lost...this is becuase of the great work done by the scholars who answerd evry question of thrown at them with light and wisdom of the quran and sunnah. I would like to note that ibn tayimya was a muhadith of the quarn and hadith (pbuh). May allah forgive any mistakes...all was written with good intent and all mistakes are unintended... salaam |
