BANGALORE, India, July 10 (Reuters) - A bomb exploded outside a church in southern India on Sunday night, the second such incident in two days and the latest in a series of attacks on the country"s minority Christian community. A police official said there were no casualties but the church windows were shattered and a wall was damaged by the crude, low-intensity bomb. The church is located in Jagjivanram Nagar, a crowded working-class district in the heart of Bangalore, capital of the southern state of Karnataka. Police had earlier said there were two blasts on the premises of Saint Peter"s and Paul Church around 10.30 p.m. (1700 GMT) on Sunday. "We had first believed that two simultaneous explosions had rocked the church but subsequent investigations have revealed it was a single blast," a senior Bangalore police official told Reuters. Worshippers who had earlier gathered for a festival had dispersed by the time the bomb went off. Angry Christians later gathered in front of the church and threw stones at a few passing vehicles before dispersing. On Saturday, a bomb exploded outside a church in Hubli, some 400 km (250 miles) north of Bangalore. Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna blamed the blast on a "lunatic fringe." Last month, bombs exploded in four churches in Karnataka and the neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh and Goa and a Roman Catholic priest was murdered in the northern town of Mathura. The Karnataka chief minister told reporters on Monday that the Corps of Detectives of the state police would now take over the investigation into the three blasts in the state. Karnataka Home (Interior) Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge said the provincial government would provide security to churches throughout the state. Christians make up around two percent of India"s billion strong population. Hindus account for around 80 percent. India"s church leaders have condemned the violence and accused the coalition government, which is led by the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), of failing to protect the country"s minority communities. Missionaries in India often blame the attacks on right-wing Hindu groups, some of which are considered close to the BJP. Hindu groups deny the accusations and say Christian missionaries sometimes cause resentment by forcing tribal people in remote areas to convert. |

it is not unnatural to act or react like that. we could do the same perhaps in bdesh, where NGOs are doing the same or similar things. and who speaks out?, no other party than J.I.
and don't call me a JI supporter, i'd do anything to cut a vein if i thought my intellectual approach to things are severely suppressed |

Salaam,
Brother AR - actually there was a debate I saw between a hindu religious leader and a church leader, and uniquely this hindu religious leader actually went further than defending the burning of churches and mosques and actually sounded like he was threatening that it would continue. Brother Wais, you are right that some muslims might do this - but they would also be committing a sin - consider the following story: Hadhrat Ali during a battle was about to kill a yahudi. The yahudi spat in his face - at that point Hadhrat Ali got up and walked away. When asked why he replied that at that moment he felt anger and that there was a risk that he would have killed him for personal reasons rather than in the way of Allah. Anyway, even when muslims or christians or any other ppl belonging to any religion kill unjustly, the religious leaders themselves condemn the bad actions, but some of the hindu religious leaders actually encourage it! you are right in saying that we are one people, but the reality is different, our so called leaders are really currupt, they are so currupt that they will sell their ouwn parents if its in their interest, India has its own interests like any other nation thats natural, even though the intention is a bad one, but what we must do is to remove the cancer that is spreading within our society. There are people who really do not care for peopel or society and are working in various forms as puppets for foreign powers, it is these people that I consider as more dangerous than say India or ony others. Enemy within is more dangerous than the enemy you can see. During the life of our Prophet (Saw) the so called muslims i.e. hypocrites caused more problems and instability than the Meccan Pagans, and that is why the Noble Prophet decided to eliminate that danger as they were against the fabrics of the state, even though some of these were first to go to mosque, pray, fast etc. The main reason why Nobab Shiraj Uddawla Lost the Muslim Bengal to the British was becasue of the famous hypocrite Mir Jafar (who was bribed by the British with the promise of Governership of certain territories) As the commander of the muslim army he gave conflicting ordersa as a result the muslim army felll into uttter confusion and so the 15000 or so British army beat off the 40000 or so muslims. We must learn formt hese events and we must follow the way of the Prophet and his Deputies if we are to regain any pride and honour. Nur I have seen that programme you mentioned, the Hindu leader said that Bangladesh and Pakistan upto I think Kabul in Afghanistan belongs to India, (well thats his dream), you see the hindus beleive in something called the 'Akhaunda Bharat' meaning the Greater India just like the Jews who beleive in a Greater Israel. these peopel can carry on dreaming but if we stick to our way of the the Quran, the Prophet and his Deputies then we have no fear for these extremist, but if we fail then we do have something to fear, beleive me those enemies of Islam are trying their best and doing 100% to stike at us. Just look at the Lebanese people they have managed to kick out a mighty power of the region with a handfull of light weapons and above all their faith, determination and shere beleife in Allah and the way of the Prophet, Israel has been humiliated by the Hizbollah which is just a small freedom fighting groug not even a government! |
