Selina its nice to see you writting something like that, but tell me something and correct me if I am wrong,
Lets say the Western countries decide to call off all their loans for the last few decades to this day in the year 2000, how is that going to help Bangladesh?
I think it wont help at all why? Because Bangladesh is always taking out new loans on top of the old loans and so even if the old loans with interest are cancelled the country is still in the spiders web, because it has just taken a new loan as we speak now, so really the donor country really does not loose anything, they've got their capital back long time ago what they are cancelling is basically the Interests.
The only way forwards for BD is to get out of the Begging Bowl Mentality and start to stand on its own feet otherwise this country like many others will always be the slaves of the Donors!

Hi,
Although i like to do my bit for Bangladesh,
How do i know even if the western countries cancel all the dept, that corrupt politicians are not to blame for the misery of Bangladesh. How will i know the help i give will go to the poor.
I think Bangladseshi government should cut down on red tape, have more eficient beurocratic infrastructure, make make it more easier for foreign investors/companies who would like to invest but they cant because of the political infighting .
It seems majority of the the politicans in bangladesh love their party more than their country.
unless they don'nt change their culture i can'nt see bright future for bangladesh.

SALAM

Salaam to all,
Actually, Bangladesh has received a lot of aid in the past, but the politicians there have decided to just use it to make use of their fat wallets!

Abdur, I see your point, but cancelling the debt might not be such a bad idea!
