Violence in the name of God
I read almost every day, Islamophobes and Israeli Hasbara (propaganda) goons making fun of Islam being the “religion of Peace” – as interpreted by many apologetic Muslims. In reality both are confused about the true divine message of Islam as revealed in Holy Qur’an. Unlike the Bible (both OT and NT), Holy Qur’an is not a book of continuous narration of the events in the past. The portion of Holy Qur’an revealed during the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) life in Makkah – is totally spiritual in nature – but meant to train the Believers for the task ahead – that’s the establishment of a state to be governed under Allah’s Divine Laws (Islamic Shari’ah). The instructions how to conduct political, military and social phases of a civilized society – were revealed during the last ten years of the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) stay in Medinah (Hebrew word for “state”). Unless, someone, take Qur’anic verses out of context – Holy Qur’an totally forbids violence against non-combatants especially women, children and the elderly people. Holy Qur’an also forbid Muslim soldiers to destroy homes, churches, temples, synagogues, orchards, schools, libraries, water sources and even animals owned by the enemies. So much so, that the Prophet (pbuh) forbid Muslim soldiers to accept food from the defeated people without paying for it.
However, Islam doesn’t command its followers to be “peaceful” to the point of submission to the tyrants and murderers. Muslims are commanded to be “peaceful” towards only those people (both Muslims and non-Muslims) who desire to live in “peace and equality” with them. Otherwise, the Believers are commanded to speak against violence, and if needed, stop it with force (Jihad). Islam, in the real sense, is the only religion which promotes peace and understanding among the people of other religions – based on mutual respect and tolerance. The negative image of Islam as a religion which preaches violence and terrorism is based on the lies propagated by the Muslim-hating Zionists, who happens to own the mainstream media outlets (newspapers, TV, publishinghouses, Hollywood, etc.). They don’t want the public to know that it’s the Jewish Bible and Talmud preaches more violence and hatred than all religious books put together. The Biblical scholar, Raymund Schwager, in his book Must There Be Scapegoats? Violence and Redemption in the Bible noted that the Jewish Bible (OT) contains 600 passages of violence, 1000 descriptive verses of G-d’s own violent actions of punishment, 100 passages where G-d expressly commands others to kill innocent people. Contrary to that Holy Qur’an commands the Believers: “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, and do not trangress; for Allah loveth not transgressors,” – Surah 2, Verse 190 “But if the enemy incline towards peace, you too incline towards peace and trust in Allah; for He is the One that Heareth and Knoweth all things,” – Surah 8, Verse 61. “And if ye do punish them, punish them no worse than they punished you, but if ye show patience, that’s indeed the best course for those who are patient,” – Surah 16, Verse 126. Gilad Atzmon in an article titled The Old Testament and War Crime in Gaza, wrote: “The Hebrew Bible saturation with violence and extermination of others may throw some light over the horrifying genocide conducted in Gaza by the Jewish state. In broad daylight, the IDF was using the most lethal methods against civilians as if their main objective is to destroy the Gazzan while showing no mercy whatsoever. Interesting enough, Israel regards itself a secular state. Ehud Barak is not exactly a qualified Rabbi and Tzipi Livni is not a Rabbi’s wife. Accordingly, we are entitled to assume that it’s not Judaism per se that directly transforms Israeli politicians and military leaders into war criminals. Moreover, early Zionists believed that within a national home Jews would become ‘people like all other people’, i.e. civilized and ethical. In that very respect, Israeli reality is pretty peculiar. The Hebraic secular Jews may have managed to drop their God, most of them do not follow Judiac law, they’re largely secular, and yet 94% of them interpret their Jewish identity as a genocidal mission. They have successfully managed to transform the Bible being a spiritual text into a bloodsoaked land registry. They are there, in Zion i.e. Palestine, to invade the land and lock up, starve and destroy its indigenous habitants. Israel is the gravest danger to world peace. Clearly, the nations made a tragic mistake in 1947 giving an emerging volatile racially oriented identity an oppotunity to set itself into a national state. However, the nations’ duty now is to peacefully dismantle that state before it is too late. We must do it before the Jewish state and its forceful lobbies around the world manage to put us all into a global war in the ‘name’ of one banal populist ideology or another (democracy, war against terror, cultural clash and so on). We have to wake up now before our one and only planet is transformed into a bursting boil of hatred.” Violence in the name of God « Rehmat's World |

Hi
One of the fundamental experiences that every human being shares amongst each other is the reality of violence. The atrocities that people are willing to carry out upon their fellow man is heart wrenching, and we are left staggered with the question: How do we make sense of all of this? I am currently reading through a book by Christopher Hitchens entitled, god is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. Mr. Hitchens is a self-avowed atheist whose public appearances, spirited debates and sharp-tongued polemics seeks to champion the atheist cause within the public square. I would consider it accessible to the general reader and pointed in its castigation against any religious establishment. I take it that in order to be fair, Mr. Hitchens spares no criticism and harbors no favorites when dealing with religion. I personally think that Hitchens would have been better served to use the subtitle as the title of his book, but sales seems to dictate that a more provocative title enlists more interest. Hi
"All religions should encourage the correct use of reason and promote ethical values to build civil coexistence," Benedict said. "Religions can never justify intolerance and war." He called on political leaders to "guarantee to all the freedom of conscience and religion, and of being able to bear public witness to their own faith." vat Fraud |
