Different topic, leave for another time.

Hac, how do you define good or bad??? There is no good or bad in this world, what i see as good, can be bad according to you!!!

Very good point. You are correct of course. But one can say the same of any fact. There is no certainty in anything. It's about 7pm now, but my Mother in B'desh would probably disagree and say its around midnight. Who is correct? Well if we had guidance from the Big Fella that owns time, ie Allah swt, He could probably acurately relate to us what the actual time is, because, after all time is the actual property of the Almighty.

So generally, we choose an arbitrary reference point and measure relative to that. Everything is relative - its a question of what reference point you choose. If we diametrically oppose each other in views, our reference points or 'anchor' beliefs are probably completely different. Reference points can change over time. For me, my beliefs were anchored to the beliefs of my parents, so what they believed, I did. But growing up, I began to modify my beliefs based on experiences. This left me with no 'anchor' points - a stage where I decided what was right and wrong - I could justify what I thought was right; there were no anchor beliefs I could steadfastly believe in. In my expereince though, these did not stand me in good stead and to cut a long story short, I felt I needed a reference point to cling to - I found this in Qur'an, since Qur'an was created by Allah swt as exactly that - a refernce manual to good, bad and a whole load of other stuff.

So this is how I define good and bad - in anything, through Qur'an.

Hope this explains my point of view.

Was'salam.

No. no idea, I don''t pretend to know the will of the One that created me, that would be foolish.

Before the time of the Prophet, may the mercy and the blessings of Allah swt rain upon him and his progeny, there were only Jews and Christians that believed in the One God. Just because they weren't called muslims does not mean they did not believe in exactly the same thing.

Read Qur'an about the very first Prophet, Adam pbuh, who was a 'muslim' but never called himself one, and all the rest of the 'muslims' including beloved Isa pbuh... they have different labels but believe in the same thing.

In my opinion, everyone is born with the capacity to be a believer, but most succumb to their own whims and desires. Some are born with more of an inclination to God than others perhaps - I dunno, but how can you you test your belief if non-muslims/disbelief does not exist? In the absence of evil, we can only do good, thus eliminating the very privelage that Alllah swt has given us: the very choice between good and evil.

Was'salam.
