the website you link to (freeminds) is an odd one

i found it extremely amusing; it has taken individual ayats from the Holy Qur'an and pieced together a message the author of the website decides to portray eg. its section on how to perform Salaat.

I wonder if the author of the "Free Minds" website was as well educated in the matters of Islam as the likes of Abu Hanifa (ra) who spent time in the company of the Sahaba (ra)?

lol.

sorry, but I find it hard to think that many Muslims take the website seriously - in the same way that Ahmedis, Ismailis come up with their own justifications as to their validity, this is almost as bad but without the historical tale of struggle and hardship.

May I ask you something? Can you understand Qur'anic Arabic? If not, then have you ever picked up a few English translations of the Qur'an? Have you noticed the differences in words used to attempt to interpret the Arabic and the clumsiness through which English attempts to do so? It is the loss of meaning through translation that seems to have lead people to make different interpretations of the Qur'an. One of these interpretations suits the meanings implied by the freethingy website, but if you compare this to other translations of the Qur'an many of the words are subtly different - however it completely negates the point being made by the website author.

Ultimately we must do what we believe is right - and so long as Muslims are not commiting the unforgivable sins like shirkh we can hope we follow the right path.

peace khilari,

Its up to every individual to verify the information before accepting it.

It is true that we who cant understand arabic has to rely on various translation and also others opinion. But it needs a lot of research to get near to the true meaning as much as possible.

I wouldn't go further on debating the issue of that sites validity as They have a forum and you can freely criticize any of their articles.

but from my point of view and research...I have found their view to be most appropriate with our social system and also accordance with Quran.

There are many arabic speaking ppl there and even those who are expert in Quranic language. So before rejecting their view I think it would be better if every individual discusses the issues in their forum. Only than an acceptance or rejection might sound reasonable.

A detailed logical explanation is needed before any rejection.

Peace
