How was the woman who was raped and killed a criminal and threat to paki national security? Or maybe she raped and then killed herself? Isnt that what youd say?

How was the little child who was ripped apart a threat to paki national security? Or maybe it was a criminal? Or maybe it ripped itself apart and set itself on fire?

Because paki ‘muslim brothers’ don’t do such deeds. Do they sunny and pakipowerr?

I do not wish to generalise, but it seems to me that the more religious the individual, the more the tendency to either completely blank out or worse alter the facts of the genocide of 1971.


Hence some posters such as Desi Sunny and Fug on the one hand downplay the atrocities visited upon ordinary Bangali’s during the war while on the other, wish to paint a perception of it dominated by ideas of ‘Hindu Indian conspiracy’. Rather than what it was; Muslim Pakistani treachery.


Just note the number of articles on this Bangladeshi forum denouncing gross human rights violations and injustice visited upon Afghans, Kashmiris and Palestinians, compared to the Mukthi Judho. Time was, when this place could have doubled for Fundi central.


I believe one of the reasons for this is the fact that 1971 showed Islamic 'brotherhood' as the myth it truely is.

I fully agree with this. Nationhood and culture defines brotherhood, not religion. An indian muslim is closer to indian hindu, than his arab/irani/german/brit counterpart.

Besides, I have never seen indian muslims fighting jihad in kashmir.

I'm not one of those who doubt the attrocities which took place in 1971.. i'm also one who has no objection to the attrocities of 1971 being raised as discussion issues on this forum..

where I do and have tended to insert my views is where i see individuals using1971 as a tool to attack Islam - the faith.. in the same way that extremists will use the attrocities ioccurring n Muslim lands today to justify perpertrating acts of violence/terror on innocent civilians.

Now if 1971 was all about what Muslim brotherhood means - if we are told by some on this forum that "Islam is as Muslims do" - if we really believe this - than surely Islam is an evil religion... a terrorist concoction? if we really have a Holy Book that talks about Islamic Brotherhood - which apparently sanctions the rape and murder of Bangladeshis , than surely the only option for those of us who acknowledge the attrocities of 1971 is to renounce our Faith?? okay that sounds extreme... how about adopting an Agnostic-Islam?? (one that doesn't exclude prayer or fasting say, because that has no impact upon society, what a person does inside his home..is no concern to me etc etc) to me that would seem the only logical conclusion from those who propound this line of argument.


But most of us don't think that - most of us believe it wasn't Islam being practised in 1971 - most of us do not believe 1971 to be a demonstration of Islamic Brotherhood as described to us by God in our Holy Book..

so blame the sinful and sometimes evil adherants of this faith till kingdom come - but don't blame the Faith rite?

and don't advise us to effectively seal the Quran up in a padlocked lead chamber for fear that following the Quran will mean that we might end up as oppressers, murderers, maimers and rapists..



And talk about 1971, but don't think it is some crime to talk about Afghanis, Iraqis or Palestinians... just visit Bangladesh - ppl r fresh with the memories of 1971, some will hate Pakistanis for their entire lives - BUT, listen to what else they talk about and they do care and they are very much interested in what is happening in Palestine and Iraq and they do talk with an open hatred and loathing for Britain and the US.
