Seems similar to the moughals - cant have been all bad to last that long. China seems in ascendant now though perhaps india will be chasing close behind to be a power to be reckoned with. With the imminent free trade association between bangladesh, india, pakistan and a few others it could be the begining of the rejoining of south asia. Same way the EU has come together again since the roman empire thru free trade agreements leading to economic and political union. It may take 50-100 years but it could come to pass.

Desi Soul => the Muslims (including Mughals) ruled a part of India for 600 years only, not 800 years Secondly, India and Pakistan can come together only if the Muslims change their attitude and become more pragmetic. Lately, pakistan realised it is of no use to call America to mediate between India and pakistan. So far as Bangladesh is concerned they have to show the same attitude as Bhutan recently showed towards Indian criminals hiding in Bhutan. I do not know friendship with Pakistan and Bangladesh will help India how much but surely it will help the small neighbours of India. India has to concentrate more on its ties with China. BJP government, I know, will do it in coming years. |

amu, ottomans were moughals, but not the same dynasty as the one in india. And as for being good or bad, you gotto ask the natives who had to tolerate them. Who told you, good things last longer than bad things?? If you must, than search 'genocide of anatonia by ottomans'...you may get the better picture. As for moughal period in india, well to be honest, the whole of present day india was never under moughals. It was predominately northern india....Islam certainly was imposed, by reverting to jazia tax blackmailing....Hindus who couldnot pay heavy taxes, generally broke under pressure. The rest saw islam as an economical oppurtunity, to get better position in government... Aurangzeb did crack down on hindus, and did demolised number of their temples....No need to login search machines...just land in india, visit the remains of broken temples, and get the first hand report.
