No Domain name for Bangladesh. It's really pathetic.

Internet has started it's operation in Bangladesh since 1996. The number of users are increasing day by day.

At present the user number is 60,000. It will reach 100,000 by the end of year 2000. At present 20 companies are working as ISP (Internet Service Provider).

But till date Bangladesh can't able to manage his own domain name (which should be .BD). Whereas countries like Bhutan, Vietnam even the new born country East Timor have their own domains.

As a Bangladeshi it really hearts me. I think respective Govt. organization in Bangladesh should take necessary action immediately, otherwise we will remain far behind from this modern technology of communication.

I think some of you guyz are studying in Computer and related subjects. So, Bangladesh need your help and advise. I know that you will not go back and start working for Bangladeshi companies there but you can contribute to our IT sector in many ways.

So, do something for your beloved country. Time is passing. Wake up, wake up.
