Women trying to sell themselves to a rich man on US gameshow.
Almost everyone dreams of being a millionaire. Or, at least, the spouse of one. But how far would one go to achieve that dream? For the women who took part in the US gameshow Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire?, they went as far as selling themselves like pieces of meat to multi-millionaire Rick Rockwell. The show aired here last week on the Singapore Cable Vision channel, Star World. I expected a gaggle of bimbos eager to show off implanted chests and cellulite-free legs to win themselves a passport to sponsored liposuction and facelifts in future. Surprisingly, they were women with good careers who most probably took part in the contest for fun or the other extreme-out of desperation for a husband. At the end of the contest, Rockwell chose Darva Conger. But her dream was shortlived when his ex-girlfriend claimed that he was a violent person. It was also revealed that he was not a millionaire after all. That was the end of the very short fairy tale. And like every fairy tale, this one comes with a lesson for everyone: Do not let money blind your choice of a life-partner. It is better to be single and happy than to be married to the wrong person. So, guyz and girls be careful choosing your life partner because you will get the chance only once in life! |
