Hiya honeyz how are ya all? Stuffed yourselves yesterday I bet. Good on you people, personally I hate meat and fish is worse. Vegetables mmm… mmm… mashaallah tasty! I know Allah’s given us all these animals for us to enjoy, wait for it…this is stupid…and you’re probably gonna laugh... but everytime I look at a piece of chicken I hear cock-a-doodle-doo (think that’s how its spelt?!!), if a look at a piece of meat I visualise cows mooing all over the place in Bangladesh and as for fish well I kinda relate them to ponds and lakes as well. No joke this time I’m not being sarcy…honest. I mean how am I meant to eat the damn thing after that?!
So when mum drags me into the kitchen “to learn the basics”(basics otherwise known as Korma, pillaou, Roast chicken the lot in mums dictionary) I try my best not to touch the raw meat or fish. Any smartarses out there don’t even try and tell me about using gloves. Been there done that...doesn’t work~~~~>when dad saw me do that he came to the conclusion that he’d have to bring a take –away, everytime he came to visit me. “Visit me” is his not-so-direct way of saying "when we finally get rid of you"--this way he doesn't get a day's silence treatment from me!!

Changing the subject slightly what did we all wear? I attempted to wear the sari that dad bought me but it was practically hanging off me by the time I got down the stairs. Bit more practise and a couple more safety pins needed, me thinks! So I had to change into mums lengha instead.... Keep 'em both happy. Anyway the sari was called "titanic"-interesting name huh? Makes a change from the normal "kuch kuch hota hai's" and the "dil se's", though I don't understand why they have to call them all these random names!
So what did you wear girls? Saris (that stayed on I hope! lol), salwaar kameez, lengha hmm? And as for the blokes were you just plain boring i.e. shirt and trousers or did you step out in a Punjabi pyjama or better still the super gorgeous outfit~~~~~> lunghi and vest?!! Now.... Now...wouldn't that have been an attractive sight!!

Anyway I can imagine your faces.. You've got that look saying "yeah yeah rup, you gonna shut your gob now before we all fall asleep?" Well you'll be glad to know that yep I am gonna put a zip on it... but hey wasn't my fault I was born with verbal diarrhoea!

Lovya loads sweeties, take care of yourselves for me,
Rupali

Hi Rupali, are you telling me you don't enjoy roast chicken and those wonderful beef curries.

Youv'e not lived girl. These animals have been made HALAL by Allah so that we can eat , enjoy and appreciate. We must Thank Allah for that.

Anyway interms of you dress code for Eid I spent half the day dressed in Very Long 'Punjabi' upto my ankle and a 'fagri' (turban)on my head. The evening was smart dress code and I put on my new three piece suit specially bought for the occassion.

It was a good eid, but not one of my best.

Cool

salaam Rup
how are ya?? Gawd man u write just as much as u talk !! So, u wore that blue sari eh?? It was funny when the sales lady said "its called titanic"! whats next, "Mission impossible sari" hee hee!!!

As fo me, I wore my lilac salwer kameez. Apparantly its a new style called "crinkly" or something like that! i don think i will eva wear sarees in my whole life as I am having difficulty keeping salwar kameez's on, (even though i only wear it on Eid days). So, I think I'll stick to my skirts and dresses

and as 4 da food~~> VEGETABLES ARE YUCK! and there is no life with out meat or chicken . I guess we only agree about "THE FISH"(YUCK)... The only thing i think about when i see meat or chicken laid on my table is "YUMMY, CANT WAIT TO DIG IN" not moo moo or cock a doodle doo!!! lol...lol

anywayz next Eid, u r coming down here coz i said so ! i dont wanna here NO! and i will make sure i stuff u with meat, chicken and even fish if u are not careful

take care and Wassalam.

ps........Longi and vest with trainers is the best outfit ever!!

Salam...
got to be quick ppl!
Farhana did u say LONGY???
EYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
If i was a guy(or i had a hubby..lol), it would have to be a three piece suit (for farhana: keeanu reeves would be in it..lol). Grey preferably, but black will do...lol
Otherwise, for the islamic look, a kameeez thingy, black or ceream..no, even better, a turban with a toob...the long white things that religious men wear....NOT THAT I LOOK OR NE THING....LOL
I wore something nice and itchy on eid!
Lotsa nice food and things were great.....!

Rups, i would have thought u would wear the "seductive" saree we bought together...lol
Guess u were in a sinking mood, eh?....lol

Take care sisz and bro.

wasssalam

Thumbs up

Hi Rupali.

It seems that you hate fish and meat so much.
Do you know that Monks eat vegetable only? Are you following their way or is it something else? I heard that by eating vegetables you can keep your body well and fit. So, keep on your taste!

But don't waste too much time in dressing. I
think you are a smart girl and will not follow what the average women are doing.

Best of luck.

Eh? Khadija actually i did wear the "seductive" one!lol that was my second attempt. And Faz next time i'll try to come up to london but hey on one condition no meat or fish. ok? your mums generally too kind!By the way we can buy a manual on the perfect way to wear a saree (lol). there must be one around somewhere.

And i think i gave off the wrong impression i don't HATE meat and fish i just prefer veg thats all! I'm not a vegetarian if i was i'd probably miss the meat!

One correction ~~~~> lunghi, vest, white socks and black plimsols is the best outfit. wouldn't you agree. I would ring you both and discuss this but i think we'd be laughing so much we wouldn't get a word in!

Tareq Ali thank you very much for the compliment and no i don't follow the average women. I stick to my native clothes 90% of the time.Just because i'm a bit of a loudmouth and am living in the west doesn't mean i've forgotten my roots. All credit goed to my lovely parents for rasing me in the way that they did. Anyway i've got nutcases around me (faz and khad) who wouldn't let me go astray anyway! sorry girls you can kick me next eid huh?

Love you lots
Rupali

P.S Farhana you should know by now that i happened to be born with verbal diarrhoea so you better get used to it girl!
