Interesting in how you say Sylheti is a language in its own right. As much as I'd like to give Sylheti such an honour, I don't seriously consider it as a separate language. We may have had our own alphabet, but how do you define a language? How is it possible to distinguish whether someone from brammanbaria speaks the Sylheti or Shuddho language?
