Tell him to tell everyone else to go and **** off. If he's good then he should go for it. His A levels and whether he gets accepted onto the course will testify whether he's able to do the course.

When I was younger I wanted to join the RAF. My careers officer at college told me about how competitive it would be etc and maybe I should set my sights abit lower. I went ahead and applied but unfortunately my eyesight let me down.

Then I wanted to do pharmacy which is 5 years long. When I went to my careers officer, guess what she said? Again she told me it was very competitive and maybe I should set my target abit lower. By now I was proper wound up and told her that id be doing pharmacy anyway and that instead of trying to put me off she should just give me some info.

I got into the pharmacy course and proved the b*tch wrong.

If your mate wants to then he should go for it.

hey bruv,
i'm considering taking up sumfing like pharmacy in uni but still not sure yet. At the moment i'm doing A-levels. I just wanted to ask you how is it? What's the actual course like and most importantly is it interesting. The thing is i wanted to do medicine aswell but i dont fing being a doctor is the fing for me cos i feel that it's too much work and im too lazy.
Anyway for da bruva dats confused bout medicine, i fink dat if you really wanna do it go for it but maybe you shud do a bit more research cos it does take a lot of effort. Forget wat people say, if you have faith in yourself you can do it and that's all that counts.
If your really concernced then maybe you can do this prayer called istakharah, basically you offer 2 extra prayers and read dis surah and go to sleep and inshallah you will sumhow know whether or not you shud go for it. If you hav'nt heard of this prayer i can tell you more otherwise i pray dat inshallah Allah guides your friend.
take care

If he's capable of getting the grades required:

ie 3A's / 2A's and a B or whatever

and if a Med School gives him an offer

Then as long as he chose the career for the right reasons rather than due to watching too many episodes of ER

it prob means he can do the course.

If he can't get the reqd grades, if they don't give him an offer and if he is squeamish at the sight of blood and the thot of having to wear girly-aprons

then it means he shouldn't do the course.
