I'm prolly gonna get rocks thrown at me for saying this .....but I care about kids WAY more than I care about Allah.

I know religion is about faith and you're supposed to believe in god and care about him/her more than anything else; I mean it's the first pillar of Islam right? And although I would like to do that (because I think religion can be a great source of comfort) I just find it easier to care about something that I can see. I mean, god may or may not exist, but child labour does! There may or may not be a heaven, but it is entirely too true that of the approximate 24,000 ppl that die everyday of hunger, 3/4 are children. And children are so innocent and naive; it just kills me that people could watch them suffer like that and not give a damn.

Besides, I don't think terrorists value the word of god at all. I think they are violent people who need to act out their violence; religion is simply used as a scapegoat! So, in that sense I think the statement is false. I mean, if it wasn't religion they were using as their excuse it would be some other crap...terrorists have little to no value for human lives, innocent or otherwise.

How can one express their love for Allah except through loving one another? This is mentioned consistantly in the Qur'an and the New Testament as words of Jesus.
In the end Allah will judge who is truly Muslim. But what better way to see into a person's heart than to observe how they treat innocent children?
More than once the Qur'an mentions Allah's kindness, mercy, forgiveness, etc. Who among us lives these values in their everyday life?
The book of the Qur'an is the sealed Word of Allah. There is no going back or rationalizing these words. There will be no excuses. Allah gave us all we need to know--nothing more needs to be said. Practice it or pervert it. Allah will know the difference.

although your responses are appreciated i think you ladies have missed the point of the thread first say true or false to the statement and then give reasons why

i think the statement is true

im on the same wavelength as sweet and jody on this one, i care about kids more then i do for allah, thats not to say allah isnt a priority, its jusr i hate it when things happen to kids, it brings out more emotions in me then allah does, the whole kid thing is a emotional thing, whereas the religion thing is more about faith, its not so much emotion, its more solid thoughts

i think if we all cared more about humanity then there would be peace, there would be less people suffering, innocent people wouldnt be scared...everyone deserves to feel safe in the world, in there enviroment but with these messed up people around, nobody is safe, the difference between people is...some of us see it as reality...whereas some people are soo scared about it and thats just not right

The statement is true to an extent.

If people genuinely and selflessly cared about each other,- the old, sick, children, women, the disabled, men...etc then perhaps there wouldn't be so much misery in the world.

But guess we all have our own petty, selfish and stupid agendas that we want to carry out and motives for doing so.

Hence we do not see who we step on on the way to the top. It doesn't matter who we backstab, push to the side as long as me, me, me get what I want, what my heart desires...

If you turn the question around and say, if people truly cared about Allah, then surely there wouldn't be so many tears shead and so many horrors experienced.

Believing in Allah teaches us not only love for our Creator, but also love for our fellow beings. If we followed the teachings of Islam the way they should be followed, then there would be peace. Chidlren wouldn't be maltreated to the extent they do, women wouldn't be battered and abused, the old would be taken care of and everyone would play an active part in their environment and society...

Oh I just realised while going off ranting that I might have misunderstood the whole objective of this thread

If people cared about anything, either Allah (or those claiming to love Allah) or kids then there would be none of this terrorism crap.

But you have to look at where the terrorist actions come from and from my point of view it comes from various sources in various forms. Just because a palestinian may blow up a child in a bus which is pretty awful in itself, it doesnt make it any worse than when the israelis go and shoot kids/or drop bombs on houses, which is no different to the americans bombing kids and ppl in places like iraq and afghanistan (or the atrocities in places like vietnam).

They are all equally heinous actions.

So it really seems that the drunk fool probably isnt too much of a fool.
