I don't know what to say... it's quite painful just reading about it....

It's sad that your mum wasn't able to offer any support at the time - I guess that's because of the culture she was brought up in, where such matters would get looked over in the cases where it occurred... so noone would even know of it... i hope times have changed... but then sometimes the same thing occurs even in the west.


(If you read the Bangladeshi papers - every few days you read reports of young girls being abducted and raped - the guys seem to get away with it sometimes because of their political connections - it's something that really makes me depressed bout the state of things back home)


But you are strong to have coped with all of this despite this lack of support.
