Show Your Support for Muslims in Palestine!

As-salaam wa-alaikum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatu,

This Wednesday, our brothers and sisters from the Manchester University Islamic Society need our support. They have submitted a motion to the Student Union to condemn 'Israel' for its Human Rights record. The ramifications of this motion being passed are great; the Union will have to campaign against Israel, including the encouragement of a boycott of their goods. The general student population will be made aware of the situation of our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

In short, YOUR SUPPORT IS REQUIRED.

We have managed to organise a coach to take brothers and sisters up to Manchester. We must arrive before 9am, so we are meeting at 6.45am inshaa' Allah. This is early, but the ends justify this.

Allah (S) says in Al-Qur'aan: "What is wrong with you that if it said to you: 'Go out in the way of Allah!' you cling heavily to the earth. Are you content with the life of this dunya rather than the hereafter? For this life of the dunya is nothing in the hereafter except folly."

So do not miss the opportunity to go out in Allah's way whatever the sphere of battle.

The Union of Jewish Students really sees this Wednesday as a threat, and are mobilising hundreds of students to go and intimidate those who will be voting. (See http://www.ujs-online.co.uk/manchester.htm) To give you an idea of their dirty tactics, last time this motion was presented they set the fire alarm off, and so the meeting had to be broken. And this time, they have been intimidating our sisters while brothers are not around. We cannot let them do this. The brothers have put together a set of plans to help ensure that they will not try any more dirty tricks this time.

WE REQUEST EVERYONE TO TRY THEIR HARDEST TO ATTEND THIS EVENT.

If there is a genuine excuse, then at least call or email the Manchester Union to show your support for the motion (Linda Devesa, Union Manager 0161 275 2950).

I think this is an important stand point as perhaps the British will begin to open their eyes in our direction.

Seeing the pictures of the young children who are gunned down with no mercy by the Israeli Soldiers will bring a tear to any Muslim's eye, without exception I have no doubt.
