Ok guys ive just seen an advert on Ekushey TV for a live programme they're doing tomorrow to celebrate Valentines day, like they're making a big deal out of it an all!!

Well frankly im shocked that this pagan tradition is now being openly celebrated by Bangalis!!!


I mean everyday can be valentines day if you have a loved one who needs to follow pagan traditions and restrict it to one day

Not that i watch B'deshi telly - but there was a brief 5minute overlap between when my parents sat down in front of the telly (at which point i tend to assume that they arent interested in watching the football) - and my getting up to find something better to do (thought it would be rude to get up straightaway)....


Anyway basically i saw the ad for a valentines prog. and i could swear it was Bangla tv rather than Ekushe tv that advertised it


And I pray - that we all, Inshallah, one day will have valentines day everday, as you put it - within the framework of a marriage blessed by Allah(swt)

Bangla TV Ekushe TV same diff, theyre both pathetic channels (sos not meant as insult to anyone who likes these channels ).

Anyway the point i was trying to make was the fact that Valentines day originated from what i think as quite a sick occasion (something to do with lotteries and choosing partners - wont go into details) and Bangalis are accepting this!!!

You are correct Sis - the origins of Valentines day has a disgusting origin of drawing lots... and you're right it's best not to go into details.

C'mon be honest, are you sure you're shocked? or did you record that programme on video, to watch later at your own time, when your parents/elders have gone out!
