Hi, (sorry for posting twice, mistake)
the longi, simply made, one size fits all. available in many and varied colours and also more frequently now, in different materials. (silk feels soo good against the skin). Under the duvets one is allowed unrestricted movement of the legs. In hot conditions one is able to use the longi to create a fan effect to provide relief from the heat and also to keep mosquitoes away. The down side is that they do tend to tangle while trying to get to sleep, or come loose. On the other hand pyjamas do seem to provide one with more security in situations where extravagant movements, or public appearances are likely, such as having to go outside to the car, or go to early morning lectures (ive done it). However under the duvet they seem to rather constrict the legs and also leave less options in hot climates. my vote has to go to the Mighty Longi, may we see them more often on our high streets, not just on the fabled streets of aldgate or the occasional appearance in a masjid, but all over the uk and then to conquer the world ![]()

Hey Mr
I have to go for neither! infact, i gtg for HOSPITAL SCRUBS!!!!!! They are baggy, brightly coloured and if u work in the Operatin Theatre, u dont even gotta change clothes in tha morning (not recommended)!!! And the lungi can cause untold of embarassment if a younger cousin or someone decides to wake u unexpectedly in the on a Dhaka morning to "play" and you find your lungi is by yo ankles... uh-oh

thanks for the links Phoenix, i had come across the LungiMan site before, however i had neglected to mention it in my post because i feel very strongly that the longis displayed are in fact renegade longis , related closer to the sarong rather than the longi. also as all men know the wearing of a longi is a very precise science and requires much training and expertise, especially to achieve the knee length longi and the more advanced 'feskundi'. i have to disagree with the way the LungiMan has corrupted the longi and the method by which it is worn ps never thought of hiding anything under my longi (aside from the obvious ) this is yet another reason to promote the traditional longi
