Why do People on Computers Carry Static energy with them?

Everyone at my workplace has this problem we all get shocks
when ever we touch something that conducts electricity..eg Door handels, keys.........thank god the toilet seats are Insulators! Do you find this happens to you????

Happens to me all the time...especially during the dry winter months. It's due to the dryness of the air around you... It's a royal pain in the neck!
The static here is so bad, my woolen jacket gives shocks to people walking near me! It actuall helps to NOT drag your feet when you walk as it generates static electricity. I generally hold something metalic in my hand (eg. keys) which I touch on the door knob befor I venture to touch it...that way I don't get shocked first!! ![]() |
