Question

Hi Everyone

i just thought ad post a question.

What happens when an educated girl gets married say to A levels, degree and so on. Once a bengali girl is married then s/he well kind of must abide by what the husband say. I have a cousin who presently has a degree but her husband will not let her work, as she wants to, definitely after getting a degree!!anyone would. I cant fully understand the case here??? okay the man will provide, but isnt this a waste of hard work, especially meeting deadlines.

Anyway eventually a family has to begin after marriage so who does what then???

just looking for opinion and thats all

take care

hey Aqaiyum, I think my cousin is lucky 'cos her husband has no problem with that. I mean her working. I ask the same question, what's the point of a Bangladeshi girl getting degree when she is not allowed to work after marriage? I don't think it's the case for all the family, though. I think the girls should let the groom know their intentions before they get married whether to work or not. If the man says no, then she has a choice.

I know alot of girls who have degrees and end up not working after they get married. I'm at University and if and when I pass my degree I will work, so I'll not be having a husband who doesn't want me to work.
However, have you ever heard of 'knowledge is power?', no one can take your education away from you- that's what my dad says, he's a wise man. So even if you don't work you'll always have that extra knowledge and experience which will most likely come in handy one day.

Salam....
this may sound a bit harsh, but.....

Islamically a women can ask that she is allowed to study/work after marriage, as he dowry.
its the safest way,coz if he doesnt let her work/study, she is entitled to a divorce............
pretty cool, id say, especially if u go in to a crappy family.....

wassalam

Education makes you what you are. I believe in the saying that " educating a woman is like educating a nation". The women (mother) is the one who spends the most amount of time with the kids at home even more than teachers in school. ITherefore if she is educated then she can pass that knowledge and wisdom to her children and the family can be shaped around her.

Anyway is there any educated women out there who are looking for marriage with the view to also working. I have a professional friend who is looking for double income!

Any responses welcome.
