Abused by Private universitys' teacher in Bangladesh

I am an ex student of Holy Cross School and Dhaka city College. Now, I am doing my Bachelor of Business Administration in Northern University Bangladesh in Dhanmondi 4/A campus.

My all records were going well. I was very bright, active and obedient student of my university. I always respect my teachers since junior level; I never showed any dishonor to any of my teacher in my entire life. I was very happy with my study, teachers and my own stuffs. There was no disturbance in my life.

But a very unusual fact has occurred in my life and caused very pathetic situation. Now I can’t study safely, can’t visit anywhere safely, can’t think anything properly. My reputation, my family’s reputation is in a weak position.I would like to share my voice.

From the second half of October 2009 there were some unfortunate mishaps in “facebook” that get me threatened, I was scared about my security. Not only in “facebook”, but also lots of harassing calls were come in my phone and my parent’s phones. There was an insecure situation occurred in my life. I can’t explain how pitiable situation was that. I became scared and since my parents are service holder and unable to come with me regular so my parents sent an elder cousin brother as a guardian with me to attend university classes. My cousin is a Senior Software Engineer and was a Lecturer of Mohammadpur Central University College. He has his own firm so he could go with me.

Since I still suspecting further problems I was unable to attend the classes, of which I informed all of my course teachers and they mostly agreed to help me out in my bad times and excused me to have a guardian with me.

My teachers consider my situation and I had only one semester left to complete my graduation and my overall academic results were good. I have a very good record so all teachers helped me in that situation.

But when I approached the course teacher, he for unknown reasons started shouting at me as well as guardian with me, and he verbally abused me and my guardian several times. I was shocked because a teacher can't behave like this way as a wild animal.

Besides, I am a female student and after few months I am going to do job. That teacher behaved so offensively which was really unexpected.He might forget that I am a female and also a final year university student. He shouted noisily in the campus so many students and teachers were come out. I felt very insulted but I didn’t do anything against him and tried to avoid his course that I was planning to complete later.

22nd December 2009, a terrible day of my life. while I was standing in the corridor of my university, minding my business accompanied with my guardian while he came along on his own and started shouting at me and my cousin for no reason, and then he get other students to assault us physically in which both me and my guardian get hurt.

A female student and her guardian was insulted and physically attacked in a university campus. My parents complained against that teacher and those students. I submitted written complain letter twice to our Head of the Department and the Registrar. But the university authority didn’t take any action against that teacher and those students. Even, I could not attend my final semester examination. And I and my parents called several times to the Head sir to take actions but he informed me that it needed time and they would send me show-case letter. But I didn’t receive any letter from the university. The authority blamed me to bring guardian with me. My question: Is there any rule of any educational institute that a student can’t bring any guardian with her/him? It means if any student come university with her guardian then teacher have right to physically abuse him/her...Here I had security concern so it’s very fair to me to bring a guardian.

And finally the head offered me to restart that semester and said that teacher was misunderstood. But that teacher didn’t submit any written apologetic letter to my parents.

I am a female student of him but he has been continuously shouting with me. Although I told him everything about my problem. But instead of helping me he did very pathetic attitude with me. The university authority tried to settle down this problem and requested me and my family to restart that semester. They said that if they would try to do anything against that teacher then my study would be hampered. What a wonderful cause they made to stop me against the university!

For the pressure of the condition I have restarted this spring semester by paying all the fees of registration. But my family shocked and depressed about the university matter. Those students who physically attacked me and my guardian are safely visiting the campus. But my guardian is banned with me in my university.

I didn’t know the genuine face of this teacher. But after this he has no capability to be an honorable teacher. He has very heavy degrees but he doesn’t know any simple manner to behave any student and their guardians. I just disgust him and his thoughts. He always shouts in the classroom and throws the assignments and reports made by students if they make any simple mistakes.

I and my family is very simple. We think simply, act simply and also do simply. My family is really shocked, I feel sad and thundered with the behavior of Department head..! He has all power but He didn't do anything against that teacher who doesn't know any simple manner to talk with a female student and also with her guardian. My guardian not only verbally abused but also physically.

My whole family is insulted but I didn’t get any protection and justice from the authority. Where not only students are scary but also teacher is included then who will give safety of students. There is no proper discipline and fairness. I really seek fair and accurate judgment against that teacher. I want to share this innocent voice of mine to all students locally and also globally.
