Sis, see... tabla like all Tal instuments gives rythim and depth to song... Its like a skeleton (only bones, which alone look ugly...only playing tabla, without song and any Sur instrument like Harmonium ... not so lucid to hear) but with a proper body (Sur) a beutiful melody (something like Madhubala) results......

Dear Sis,
Initially this happens... there is nothing unnatural about this. Tabla is not at all that difficult.
U know I am poor learner of music... while I was learnig tabla during my matriculation (more than 10 yrs back) I realised that music is not my cup of tea, so I left both because of my lack of interest and due to nearing of exams.

I hope u have sufficient interest in music, unlike me (i used to learn things mechanically). So please try to develop interest for the rythims and bits, try to go deep and understand ur music lessons, keep urself entirely involved (during class) and play the instrument through heart. All musical instuments are corelated and the basics of each is almost similar... so as u keep learning please try to understand music as a whole as well as individual instruments in isolation.

Please do as much practice as possible. And when u hear good songs and musics (It seems u watch a good number of movies) try to relate them to the basics what u learn in lessons and try(just try) to generate similar bits and tune from ur instrument.

Since music is an art, it will look u easy once u like it and feel it.

Regards
Bro Hippu
