The caste system is the same as not marrying outside your sylheti community. People reluctantly do that, same goes with peepz who hold on to their background ad traditions of being landowners, farmers, kashmiris, Sheiks etc.

I went to a private school, a Paki one, where they taught us to read and write urdu. And my parents spoke Urdu with me at home. I do find it weird that lots of peepz in UK don't speak their mother tongue that well, or with an accent

Farsi used to be/still is to a large extent, the language of poetry on those borders. (Pak, Afghanistan, Iran, India...)

I'll write a wee poem I wrote, think I've posted it before.

Peete to hum hain magar, peete hain unki aankhon se
Botal mein kya wo nasha, jo milta hain unki aankhon mein.

with the mirpuris its more than just the reluctance in see in rents of sylheti kids.

its not that big an issue for sylhetis to marry out of syleht, its jus that as sylhetis we meet so few that are from outside, also there is a language problem and also there are sum parts of bangladesh that are jus frwoned upon by the whole of bangladesh.

with the mirpuris its like something as strong as religion, its totally ingrained into them that they have to marry within the same cast. I spose its like a banglai girl marrying a ni$$er.

you're right about the poem, i didnt understand it, cept bit about the eyes innit.

*I admit I drink
but I drink from his eye.
You cannot find the same level of intoxication in a bottle
that I get from his eyes*

A really bad translation...

lol at Pete!

Rainzy, had I said 'houn/hu' then it might have said *i am pete*

I wrote this (ages ago) coz I was in a funny mood, the original had 'vodka' instead of bottle...

Didn't know you understood Urdu that much.
