one thing i dont understand is snobery when it comes to listening to music.

im guessing most of you kids would be guilty of it.

i bet most of you only listen to certain types of music and will stick to it and hold other types of music in low regard.

its an insecurity thing i think. i mean say you listend to a bangla track that you liked you wouldnt be able to tell your freinds about it and therfore it your mind its not worth liking. cos most peeps only do things so that they can tell some1 else about it.

what i do know is that music is about aquaired taste. if you listen to a type of music long enuff you begin to like it. you begin to recognise the differnet nuance and you begin to link the music to events in your life.

take classical music, we all like it when its in ever film we've ever watched, but i bet very few of us would take the time to listen to it on its own. thats because we dont know enuff about it.

I dont care wot this makes me but i cannot stand dance music n most hop hop stuff (except eminem)...they tend to recycle the same stuff to death...i mean once uve heard a dance track uve heard em all, and the same goes for hip hop to a certaun degree.

i listen to bangla rock, i used to be addicted to it at one point and i remember always recommending it to my friends, b.com included but i dont think anyone took it up. Anyway if u have time, get hold of James' Dukhini dukkho korona album, its WICKED!

im abit more open minded these days

couple of years ago, would i be listening to franz ferdinands "take me out"?

plus one of my favourite songs at the moment is "shader lau"

dave matthews band - "everyday"....i dont even know what genre that is, music wise sounds like american teen movie soundtrack material, lyrics wise sounds like a advert

i jus listen to anything and everything these days....BUT...in saying that, i would never play that **** in public its for personal use ...it jus dnt sound right when ur in a car, in the enviroments i visit

when im in a car, i wanna hear urban music, hard hittin lyrics and music

its ok when you have a dislike of popular music cos that shows you have independance.

things are warped where i work. everyone pretends that they are into fringe music and anyhting mainstreem is laughed at. That a type of snobery in itself.

I know baout trying to encourage bangla music aswell - peeps jus cant be asked to listen to it.

An i kind of understand not playing it infront of everyone - but i dont give a crap who hears it anymore. The only reason i dont blast it from my car is cos my system is mashed and i'll get cuss for blastin it.

was on this residential thing the other weekend, and we were playing that game where you write a celebs name on someones forehead, they ask u questions n then they have to guess who it is.

anyways, this one girl had 50 cent on her head, she hadn't even heard of him! i laughed at her, but then realised that if it was someone from my chemical romance or some other stuff i wouldnt have heard of them either.

thought id just share my pointless story

surely if you go out of your way to like music thats different from mainstream music, your not really "free" in your choice of music. cos your choice in music is affected by everyone elses choice in music. ahem, ill shut up now. :look:
