She wrote this about you know what, try and download it from somewhere. Its amaxing that Bangladesh often brings out the best in all communities other that the bangladeshi ones.
SONG OF BANGLADESH (Words and Music by Joan Baez) Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bangladesh, Bangladesh When the sun sinks in the west Die a million people of the Bangladesh The story of Bangladesh Is an ancient one again made fresh By blind men who carry out commmands Which flow out of the laws upon which nation stands Which is to sacrifice a people for a land Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bangladesh, Bangladesh When the sun sinks in the west Die a million people of the Bangladesh Once again we stand aside And watch the families crucified See a teenage mother's vacant eyes As she watches her feeble baby try To fight the monsoon rains and the cholera flies And the students at the university Asleep at night quite peacefully The soldiers came and shot them in their beds And terror took the dorm awakening shrieks of dread And silent frozen forms and pillows drenched in red Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bangladesh, Bangladesh When the sun sinks in the west Die a million people of the Bangladesh Did you read about the army officer's plea For donor's blood? It was given willingly By boys who took the needles in their veins And from their bodies every drop of blood was drained No time to comprehend and there was little pain And so the story of Bangladesh Is an ancient one again made fresh By all who carry out commands Which flow out of the laws upon which nations stand Which say to sacrifice a people for a land Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bangladesh, Bangladesh When the sun sinks in the west Die a million people of the Bangladesh © 1972 Chandos Music (ASCAP) |

fug : That song was pretty rubbish it has to be said. What is the message exactly?
Was it against the war? Well, we Banglas had little option when a simple village woman (more like town) or child is exposed to full onslaught of Pakistan's conventional weapons including tanks and such. The only way to defeat with those people was to be brave, thats what Banglas were at that time, brave. I wouldn't even contemplate facing up to such might, such babarity. I would sink and let them do what they wanted to me, and you know what, in the end I would win because I would raise plans and work undercover to destroy them, there is more than one way to skin a cat. The Banglas won the liberation war due to their courage I would have tried to win it using cunning but you know what, the object of the war was just. |

im not commenting on the quality of the song, but i reckon you couldnt write for chit as a cultural parasite.
but the positive emotions of care she showed. i think it was after the blood bath, and she was quite actively involved in halping, not talking krap like a peasant banger, she talking of amreekan complicity and stupid military generals. |

I think this would be good lyrics for a will smith style rap.
