I feel this is the main reason why we cannot contend with pakistani and indian pop music... its not what is sed, its how its sed.

Think about it.. most of hindi tracks, the content is garbage- but its the way they sing it which makes it sound good and a hit (i.e That Dayya dayya track ash sings in that film).

Another example: there's this track by Palash & Shakila called "Jodi Bow Sajo Go", the track is hot and sounds like its out of a hindi film... thats because it more or less is, it litterally rips a hindi track by Mukesh & Lata called "Kya khoob lagti ho" (from the film Dharmatma)... the bengali version is way better (then again, i'm biased).

Here, I found a link to the track:

Bands such as LRB, Miles and Nagar Baul produce some quality music nowadays. Amar Shonar Bangla by James, Bangladesh by LRB and Chad Tara Shurjo by Miles are all great tracks. Miles and LRB are probably the best bands in Bangladesh. I've witnessed these 3 bands live on various occasions and I'm sure if you were there, you would be impressed. Those guys have talent and now they have money too so they are coming out with quality stuff.

I so agree with you, it's the way the singers sing. Lot of the hindi songs are means nothing but crap but they sound great and the meaning of Bengali songs are nice and strong but it sounds so crappy. I heard "My Heart Will Go On" the song from Titanic in Bengali in Annondo tv show December 2003 in BTV and ami obakh hoi gechi...it was so amazing. Becasue the way they sang it was incredible. these bands try to imitate american bands that's why i hate them and adhunik is becoming anicent but some songs sounds nice but we need to find our great songs and stop copying others.
