Bengalis and music

How come Bengalis abroad arent more involved with music and poetry? We have a rich culture that can be represented through music and poetry but we all gotta be engineers. Whats the deal?

well I am, the music part, I just listen but the poetry aspect, I'm involved in a lot.

But what you say isn't the same as what I observed here, everybody I know sing, even if they can or not.

Hey I am invloved and so are lot of others. I love the music and I also write alot of poems. Hoping to publish my first book very soon inshaallah.

yeah i just quit my CIS(comp.info.sys) program 2 major in literature,
:P i knoww that sux, but i finally figured out that i shud do what i enjoy doing, and the rest u know .
but i also gotta major in NSS (netwrk. sys. speclst.) , and that really sux, cuz "supposedly" i wont be able 2 make a livin majring in literature.
