The film you're after is "Gross Point Blank".

Yes, I've seen it and thought it wasn't bad, though a bit slow and sentimental in parts. The good bits are full of some pretty effective dark humour, (the film is basically about an amicable contract killer who takes some time out to go to a school reunion, meets an old flame, then has his job catch up with him when he is required to assassinate her dad).
