I was amused to read Abraham Foxman’s letter to Garretson (Garry) Beekman Trudeau (b. 1948), winner of 1975 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning – concerning his Doonesbury comic strip (reproduced below), published in ‘Slate Magazine’ (a subsidary of the Jewish owned Washington Post Company) on May 31, 2009. Abe Faxman, the national director of Anti-Defamation League (ADL) wrote: “….Sunday’s Doonesbury misquotes the Bible, maligns Judaism, and promotes a Christian heresy, all within eight panels (strip). It reinforce age-old stereotypes (by Christians) about Judaism that have been the cause of much suffering and pain over the centuries, and which have been rejected by a variety of Christian denominations (Zionist Christians) over the last decades.

Jesus’ concern in the Gospels is with money-changers, not money-lenders. The money-changers converted the coins of the Roman Empire into the currency accepted by the Jerusalem Temple, as money-chargers today convert dollars into Euros. To speak of money-lenders harkens back the stereotype of Sylock, when Jews were forced by Christians to engage in usury…..Doonesbury’s Reverend Sloan is guilty of promoting anti-Jewish stereotype and biblical illiteracy. He owes both Jews and Christians an apology.”

Interestingly, it’s the same ADL, which defended the Zionist Jew Flemming Rose, editor of Danish daily Jyllands-Posten – for his “freedom of press” rights for publishing several cartoons insulting the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in 2005.

Garry Beekman Trudeau is a distant relative of my favorite Canadian prime minister Pierre Trudeau (d. 2000).

Leland Lehrman, an American Jew human rights activist, in his August 27, 2005 article titled ADL, Zionism Causing Rise in Anti-Jewish Sentiment exposed the hatred of various Jewish lobby groups against Christians and Muslims for the benefit of Israel.

“I declare that it is time for Jewish American citizens of good intent to break with the ADL, the criminal spy organization AIPAC and its supremacist leadership and join in the condemnation of Zionists and neoconservatives war plans in Iraq, Iran, Syria, and throughout the world. This alone will guarantee us immunity from any blind anti-semitic backlash that we might experience. It will also prevent the anti-semitic backlash in the first place….”
