Smile

"Tasneem" (By INM)

Empty words spoken between lovers
The web of lies entangles a heart
Promises broken
Dreams shattered
And souls scarred for all eternity.

Eyes that look but see nothing
Because they have lost the ability to dream
Tears wasted on a burning heart
Nothing is gained, even more is lost.

A girl born but gone too soon
While gulity hearts stand by, watching helplessly.
Former lovers gather the pieces of broken hearts, dreams,
Promises and lives,
Moving onwards at a slow pace.

I liked this poem, it envokes a lot of feelings.

What I got out of it is that a girl was forced to mary early and there was no love lost beteen her and her husband. She was heartbrocken through this and eventually died.

Well that's my point of view, may be totally different from the author soooo, what is it really about angeleyes?

Interesting interpretation, Anika.

I read the poem as a failed relationship leading to a aborted pregnancy or possibly a miscarriage.

It's funny how a poem can be interpreted in so many different ways. So, what is it really about?

I thought it was about a woman who has been betrayed by her lover/husband and their relationship has broken down? the girl born but gone too soon is about waking up to the harsh reality of life rather than an actual death of a child... loss of innocence and all that...

ita all about betrayal and separation isnt it?

would be interesting to know what it really is about angel

WOW!

Thanx guys for your intrepertations, though I did not think that you would analyse the poem. Just reading it would have been sufficient

In a way all three of you are right. It's a bit about everything. (Marriage, though it is not evident in the poem) love, betrayal, separation, death of a child etc.

Basically situations that you would never have imagined being in, but which life puts you in. Guess there is always a twist to the simplest love-strories!

It should've been so easy
To turn around and walk away
Leave all the hurt and pain in my heart
Only taking this empty frame where my heart used to be.

No regrets, coz we don't look back
To see all the destruction we've caused
Moving ahead no matter the cost of living out our desires.

Roses wither and their colour fades away
But the thorns grow hard with every passing hour
They still hurt like the first time.

angel, these poems are really really good.

Do you happen to to be INM?

If you are, I hope you arent talking from experience... the poems all seem so sad.... wouldnt want you to have gone through those kind of emotions.
