I dont think that 'Devdas' is the right choice as an official entry from India for the Oscar Award.
We can recall that 'Lagaan' has lost due to the story line was centred around India. And Devdas can never be considered as a great movie though its story is a success as a novel.

I think no other Indian movie, leave alone 'Devdas', is worth a mention when it comes to Oscar. All our Bollywood blockbusters are meant for general public just for 'time pass'.

Now producers got to think 'globally' and make sensible movies like 'Ameli', Noman's Land.
