Bengali Devdas

Hi!

Has anyone seen the new bengali version of the Devdas movie?

Apparently the movie was released a day after the bollywood version and is more closely linked to the book.

If anyone has seen it - how does it compare to the bollywood versions? the new and the old Dilip Kumar version (both of which are faves of mine!)

I havent seen the Bengali Devdas, but I heard that, its much better performance all the artist. Its much better than Hindi vesrion, very simple and classicaly done.

In bengali Devdas, casts are Prasenjit, Indarni Halder, and new cast. I think it will be much better than Hindi version.

I watched the new hindi one last week with my husband who hasnt seen the Devdas movies and then showed him the old Dilip Kumar version and he agreed that whilst it was a good movie it would have been better if the new hindi version had stuck to the book as it would have been a better movie. There was too much gloss and less charecter development which was a shame.
I would like to see the new bengali version - do u know if it will be released in the UK? it would be nice to see it!

Thanks for the reply, I dont think the bengali version of DEVDAS will not release in UK.

I am agree with your Husband, that the new version of DEVDAS need more character development. Its not properly stuck to the book. Een the costume Sharukh wear and Chandra mukhi wear, origainlly they never wear this kind costume. I am sure that Bengali version will be much better movie than HINDI version.
