Lightbulb I've seen DevDas!

WOW! Absolutely brilliant such a beautifully made film, from the sets to the performances. and its so sad, especially the last scene (which must be the best climax scene ever) which leaves u heartbroken

SRK is awesome as Devdas
Aiswarya gave her best performance
Madhuri is electrifying
Music is heavenly

Cool

sis its based on a Bengali novel, dont u know, thats how it ends, the only thing the director changed was the meeting of Paro and Chondromukhi, which never takes place in the real novel (along with several other 'minor' changes'). He basically wanted to show what might have happened had Paro and Chondromukhi met each other.

There can't anything after Devdas dies, cus hes the protagonist, hence the story ends with him (just like in the novel)

lol I know what u mean by their Bengali accent hehe 'Kemon acho paro' HAHHA, but I suppose the idea was to give it a proper Bengali feeling

Unhappy I've seen Devdas too.

I saw DEVDAS. The picture is full of grandeur, emotions are subdued because of settings and costumes. I expected lot of emotions in the film, but very few scenes it could be seen. On the whole I liked it. The director has done a great job but if he had concentrated more on emotions it could have been a classic.

The music was good, Mardala and Sheeshe se sheshe takraye.

Question

all the hype - so i thought it would be rubbish

but I was pleasantly surprised. the sets were amazing as were the costumes

and the acting was pretty decent too. shah rukh khan gave his usual performance (i dont think he has too many sides of acting...) but aishwarya was good

unfortunate that Dilip Kumar showed how the the character of Devdas could be played brilliantly. No matter how good Sha rukh khan can be, i dont think he will ever quite be up there with the likes of Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachan

i thought the music was crap when they played it on b4u, but in the film context, i really enjoyed the music and the songs! so they are ok after all!

but the film will flop financially cos they cant really recoup the 50crore rupees they spent!

Devdas

I saw Devdas here in SoCal on the big screen.

First twenty minutes with the older ladies running to and fro over nothing was a bit much. Other than that it was okay and the sets and costumes were great.

The "whiskey" dance with Jackie I couldn't make sense of at all ....

I know I know its just a movie...

IMHO Women liked it a lot more than Guys like myself (plenty of feminine sniffs and sobs around me that night -- towards the end of the movie when SRK dies).
